Im not sayin briere had a good game but the hate in here is getting ridiculous .... An assist on the first goal and was a big factor on the forecheck to free the puck up on the second goal...but will just focus on the stupid shootout wake up people - Slammed81
he's had his moments where he's contributed, like the examples you pointed out. but he's not carrying his weight, and hasn't been for awhile. he's simply not a player they can count on. maybe that will change in the playoffs. he's done it before. |

broken record.
Briere has always been money in the playoffs. Always.

If this bum could actually flip a switch like everyone thinks, he would be playing playoff like hockey all year round scoring 50-60 goals and getting huge publicity. Hes not and he can't |

lilja has done a nice job. and with meszaros and kubina also hurt that means we have another phantom back up. probably manning again. it's a big deal against the pens for tomorrow's game.
and you know talbot would be jacked too.
two big losses in my opinion. - hammarby31
I thought I read Kubina was at least skating by himself, wouldn't suprise me to see him in there tomorrow. 3 games in 4 days, I would be hesistant to put Shelley in there if Talbot is out. Probably need to get some decent minutes from the 4th line guys, I would much rather see Harry Z in tomorrow if Talbot can't go.

Was it bad? No chance he plays when we bring the circus to town tomorrow? - canadianpenfan
i don't know. he lost a fight, which i didn't actually see, and then he didn't come back. not sure if he had a shift after the fight or not. i'm assuming he's out tomorrow. hope i'm wrong. |

biggest thing is the effort. how many times today was he gliding where if he was skating he makes a play. pucks near the corners or boards he could get to the puck but instead glides and allows the defender to get there first and loses the puck |

some players just have a habit of turning it up a notch in the playoffs. He's one of them. |

there was a lot of gliding and watching today, not just by briere. he needs to be better. maybe there's an injury hampering him. i don't understand how a guy with the skill he has can be mostly invisible for this long. |

I agree but people in here are getting ridiculous ...it's like Shelley all over again ...watch the damn game ...not the box score...sure he had moment in this game ...so did Jagr n Giroux because Danny has a horrible contract lets exaggerate how bad he is? Sure he's disappointed us but to call him useless really just stupid I don't get it |

Briere's top 4 playoff totals came in seasons where he had more then 25 goals.

It's not stupid and to keep hanging your hat on his playoff performance while we are losing needed points in the regular season is just making excuses. He's having a bad year, he's the highest paid player on the team and he needs to do more than get 1 goal in two months. All the stuff you are giving him a pat on the back for is nice, but seriously his contract status dictates he needs to do more. |

He's a player that other teams still have to account for, which can't necessarily be said for a replacement level player.
