C'mon Jsaq I'm trying to get positive with him Now you nudged me back into debby downer mode with Briere - JoeRussomanno
I'm not bailing on the guy, but he's got to step it up. Just like Bryz has. |

I thought Coots did a really good job, playing over 20 minutes today. He is just so sound defensively. - ravishingone
He's going to be your Jordan Staal. |

That is amazing. Stitches in the gums suck though, if that's where he got them. - canadianpenfan
Yeah, nobody said if they were in the lip or the gums. I'm amazed he didn;t spit out a few chiclets on the ice. |

As mentioned above whoever got out of the first round would be hurting. 8 straight games like today would be killer. - kgrpitt
No question. Although Flyers players get hurt against anyone, and everyone. If they skated against Disney on Ice, someone would get a concussion colliding with Mickey Mouse. |

Look that comment is clearly a generalized statement. If it doesn't apply to you then don't let it. Problem I had with the other individual is feeling the need to come over here and talk poop. You want to talk hockey fine i don't really care your team affiliation but trying to turn this into a highschool cafeteria trash talk session is annoying. Especially when your team lost and now I have to listen to someone try and bring us down. - JoeRussomanno
I've learned to live with the highschool cafeteria trash talk; it's the 7th grade stuff that it hard to watch. |

Rinaldo took 5 stitches, amazingly lost no teeth from Hartnell's unintentional lumber massage - Jsaquella
I was wondering about that. The slo-mo replay showed him getting hit just above the lip and under the nose. Very lucky on that one. Very lucky. |

Hey J.
Ya, too bad Bryz had to lift his pad on the Malkin goal. He got across and had it far enough to the post but just raised it enough so Malkin could slide it under. I'm glad I was wrong about Bryz a while back. I thought he was a couple of bad goals from another meltdown. He seems to really have got it together after he had that talk with the boys. - rockychocbill
I think he was anticipating Malkin lifting it. He's actually buddies with Malkin, they do clinics back in Mother Russia in the summertime. |

I can't believe Rinaldo didn't lose at least 4 teeth, it was brutal to watch. He played well, but I would rather have him on the 4th line, then on a checking role. He can play an effective game when he stays focused. - ravishingone
Yeah, his whole key is staying focused. He can be an effective little agitator. If it boils down to him or Wellwood to dress in playoffs, it's a tough call for me....although Wellwood is more versatile and can be used on the PK. |

Need to get healthy for the playoffs. I would assume that Kubina will be returning to the lineup soon. Mez im not so sure about. |

You never know. There are no easy roads. I can't believe the Blues are the first team to 100 points, and by a pretty wide margin. What a job Hitchcock has done. - PLindbergh31
Easily the Jack Adams winner this year. The Blues will need very strong goaltending but if they do I see no reason they can't make it through the tough West. They kind of remind me of a more defensive version of the '08 Pens.
At the end of the day anyone can beat anyone in a 7 game series and it's what makes the next 2 months so amazing. Nothing beats playoff hockey. |

There's a lot of great candidates for the Adams, but what Hitchcock has done is remarkable. If not for him there'd be a great three or four horse race between Paul MacLean, Bylsma and Glen Gulutzan of Dallas |

Agreed, Malkin is the best player in the league right now, I thought Coots did a very good job against him. Lava really has a lot of confidence in him.
Coots and Voracek for Carter really doesn't seem fair anymore.

I unno I lost the joy of trashing people based on their team affiliation in highschool. I guess some people are still at that stage in life and as a member of this thread i have to endure it. Oh well |

Would be nice, but I'm not counting on it. They haven't been healthy all year, no reason to expect it during the playoffs. Whatever players are in the lineup will have to step up.
Today they were without 4 key players, and found a way to win. |

Probably. But with both he and Malkin being so stretched out like they were he was better to cover the ice. Hard for either of them to raise the puck or the leg in that situation. Nice to see Bryz get across and stay with him like he did.
Well, the wife and kid wanna go hit some outlet shops so I'm outta here for now. Will check in from time to time this week. Be well. |

I have to say I am really proud of this group. Would rather not have the bad afternoons but they are tough bunch that IMO will claw their way to greatness in the next two months. |

I actually thought it was going to be Torts, until the all star break when NY started going all NY. Trotz too, this guy needs to get his due one of these days. |

Yep. I much preferred it when he was slugging along with his 8 something save %. I have become more worried over the last couple of weeks. I'm still hopeful that the Pens can just find enough weaknesses to exploit over the course of a series. |
