I had my car borken into and the cops didnt come... What do you want them to do? Send out a detective to scrap paint samples from your car and check survalence systems from near by convience stores for footage of the crash? I'm sorry, but the cops have to pick thier battles... No-one was hurt... There were no witnesses... There is like 0.01 percent of catching a criminal and it would ahve cost a lot more to do the investigation then your 500 deductable...

But I understand that it sucks... Like I said I was in a similiar situations and I was mad at the time, until my uncle...a cop... explained it to me...

Thing is depending on the damage they might even know they hit you. I hit a car years ago with my old T-bird. The thing was so heavy that when I clipped the 2000 honda civic plastic bumper I didn't even feel it. Was going around a corner in a tight space and my rear fender just caught the bumper. I happened to look in the sideview mirror and see this long black thing stuck to my fender

Also if it was St Patricks day its a good chance that whoever it was in fact was drunk so.... If you call around though and get prices you might get someone willing to give you a break on the deductable too since they are most likely getting most of the money from the insurance company.

the insurance company already gave me a list of approved places in my area and if go to one outside of their list i have to go through some long approval process through them
