well there's a reason they got papelbon
i would have loved it if they had gone for a replacement for koward - 2Real
Their offense is in trouble. Howard, Utley, Polanco and Rollins all get injured and are not what they use to be. Amaro probably would love to add but he has nothing to give up other than Victorino or Brown. |

Have to think they will take a serious run at Schneider or Bernier. I think Yzerman stock piled a ton of picks to try and put together a package for one of those guys. - PLindbergh31
Either would be an upgrade. Makes sense to add a goalie who can be your franchise for years to come. |

Should have gone the cheaper route with the closer, and used the money to add some offense. Madson was fine.
Phils pitching will be fantastic, Worley is going to be really good. Offense is going to struggle to score some runs for sure. |

Yup. Not sure if Schneider would be available, as he actually has a chance to jump Luongo, but Bernier is blocked by Quick, Kings would be foolish not dealing him. |

You just have to worry with Charlie bc he will let his starters pitch deep into games bc the score will be close most of the season. If the offense struggles to score runs we could see high pitch counts during those 2-1, 1-0 games. |

he'll hit the occasional home run every 50 games - 2Real
Thing that bothers me with the Phils is there's too much of the buddy buddy stuff going on sometimes. |

Bernier is the player to get if your TB. Like you said Quick is blocking him from being a starter.
Remember this past summer the guy I wanted the Flyers to trade for was Quick.
I'm still okay that they ended up with Bryz. |

Thome can still hit, problem is he can't play the field more than once or twice a week. Opening day infield of Wigginton, Galvis, and Michael Martinez. - PLindbergh31

Speaking of a team that has me worried just look at the Phillies. I have no idea how they are going to produce runs. They have always been a team that depends on the long ball but they have one player who can hit over 25 homers in their opening day roster, Pence. Its going to be fun to watch a team try to play some small ball when they never have done it. Hopefully their pitching staff stays healthy cause their going to need it this year. - stveshdy
I wouldn't be surprised if Utley's career is just about over.

No doubt about. Those 2-1 games tax a pitching staff big time. |

That should be the starting lineup down in Triple A.
Hopefully they can survive.

You may be right. Two bad knees. He had all offseason to get healthy and he is in worse shape. Not good. I dont expect to see him back anytime soon. |

I wanted Quick. Depending on what the Flyers would have had to give up, I still think that would have been the move to make.
Bryzgalov has to win one Cup during the course of his contract, if he does it was a great move. |

With their pitching staff, they will do more than survive. |

I'm really concerned about their hitting. It's early and they have time to make changes if needed but when you look at what they have its alittle scary. |

Going to see a specialist this week. Sounds ominous. |

SF won the world series with good pitching and suspect hitting all year long. They got hot hitting at the right time and made the most of their opportunities. |
