Two phantom calls on Burrows and a BS penalty shot. What is the problem with the officials the last bunch of games?

If I am the NHLPA I would certainly want a system in place that can more efficiently monitor the accuracy of officials or at least deal with the problem of refs with personal vendettas. Currently, from what I understand, the only real incentive is reffing in the playoffs, but I would be interested to see a system were refs can also be fined for missed calls, or missed calls on plays that lead to suspensions, etc. It should be a privilege to officiate an NHL game.

It is pretty bad when we are hoping the KHL take over so we can have a credible league.

Well I have a friend who knows a guy who was front row in the section immediately behind where the hit happened, and I am pretty sure he recorded it on his cellphone. So, this 3rd angle might shed some additional light on Jump-Gate.

We should trade burrows and Kesler .The NHL hate them and make up their own rules against them.

Ribeiro is such a rat... Comes out of the box and spends the next 30 seconds floating for a breakaway pass. He's LaFlamme before Stifler shows up and turns him into a team player.

My only issue is how obvious make up calls and personal vendettas are. I don't know if its more of the veteran guys that are suspect to that or not... Either way, NHL needs to hold a reffing conference over the summer or something and straighten some stuff out. Sending tapes to the teams is no good if not all the refs are on the same page...

Anyone else see Weise trying to act tough at the beginning of his fight? Dropped his gloves & helmet... Gave the guy a "come get some" wave, then skated right into a punch.

Also, what about post - game interviews with the on-ice officials? So, Johnson, want to explain how you missed that high sticking call 5 feet infront of you?

Yeah, he held his own though. I was impressived with the dodging skills, it could have been a lot worse

I know a lot of Canuck fans think the reffing is anti Canuck, but the fact is the poor officiating is league wide. Every city thinks it sucks. Unlike it's competetion ,fans of football basketball and baseball the officiation is respected. NHL is on par with WWF and Olympic figure skating judges. Easily one of the most uncredible sports .

There were two, one was the broadcast one that was up high, one from above/behind the benches (the one that I saw that showed it better). The broadcast one made it look like the puck was a lot closer to the two of them and that Daniel was going up to bat the puck down, but when I saw the other angle I saw that there was no way to play the puck. I made a mistake based on the angle I saw, I'm man enough to admit it.

I'm not sure if anyone else is aware, but it wasn't even Keith with the elbow. Did you notice how Daniel's head snapped back, and to the left. Impossible from Keith's angle...

Exactly. It's not just one team that is getting the short end of the stick on multiple occasions. Again, hopefully NHLPA will somehow bring this up in the negotiations. Suspensions = lost $. we all talk about how we need to increase suspensions for hits to the head, etc, etc, but if the officials would call things majors and not minors, and actually learn how to give guys 10 min miconducts, I think you'd see less guys willing to take a run at guys. They know in game there are never really any repurcussions.

Yeah, and I heard they were actually flying Daniel to Vancouver to rack up some extra airmiles for the playoffs. Lots of levels to the jumpgate scandal.

Apparently Daniel was the one holding the line back, Raymond and Henrik a better tandem than Norm and Cliff
