Schneider's within striking distance of the #1 Save% in the league. I hope he gets at least 3 or 4 more starts.
- DrChristianTroy

Schnieder will probably get the start against Dallas, they will split the Avalanche and Flames games.

OK ---- I heard this on the radio today---- which normally means it is heavily laden with crappola but a called made an excellent suggestion.........

Sorry for the Bold.... but I want your attention.... here... look at this panda...

OK -- I think I have your attention....

This idea makes sence.......

WHO CARES WHAT THE CHICAGO PLAYER GETS AS A SUSPENSION AS IT NEITHER BENIFITS NOR PUNISHES EITHER TEAM.....

SO....

THE 5 GAMES THAT THE CHICAGO PLAYER WILL GET --- IN ADDITION TO THAT PLAYER PAYING HIS FINE THROUGH GAMES LOST.... THE TEAM LOSES THAT AMOUNT OF CAP SPACE AND THE OTHER TEAM GETS THE EXTRA CAP SPACE FOR THE FOLLOWING SEASON.

This idea makes a lot of sence and will stop cavemen from taking revenge shots at contenders. It punishes and benifits those who need it.

Thoughts??????

Burrows has 20 penalty minutes the last two games. He's been an animal out there.
- boonerbuck

He maybe deserved 6 of those. Complete nonsense officiating.

Likes what I saw from the Tanev-Hamhuis pairing. Tanev's poise at this age is just ridiculous.

Oh god no. Bettman's Babies will each end up with $100MM in cap space and Canadian teams other than TO will have to buy their roster on sale at Zeller's.

Agreed, but as has been mentioned before the only thing it serves is to rest Keith for these games, however many Shanny decides. CHI is safe in 6th, challenging for 5th. If Daniel is out for any of the playoffs then justice won't have been served.

Very well said. If only they could say Keith serves six game. Three regular, three playoffs. That would be ideal

I just hope that doesn't mean that the medical report for Sedin came in and it is worse than expected. That might be the only thing that causes a longer suspension than Shanny originally had in mind.

Elliotte Friedman ‏ @FriedgeHNIC
Would bet heavily Canucks are arguing behind scenes that Keith suspension should compare to Rome's. A lot of lobbying from both teams.

You're right. If the injury reports are coming out badly, it may impact the length of the sentence. Again though, given Chicago's position in the standings the only thing that would hurt them is a suspension that reaches into the playoffs. Everything else is a yawn for them (and possibly a win if Daniel is out for some of the playoffs). We'll see what the verdict is.

If it's on the carpet, I'm thinking Danny may be out a while. Broken jaw?

I think if his jaw was broken it would have been reported by now. Thats something you can tell off the bat. Its taking a little more time because concussions are a little harder to narrow down.

Broken Jaw? Im thinking highly unlikely.

Plus if the Canucks knew he had a broken jaw Im sure they would have exposed it to have some sort of an affect on the suspension coming to Keith.

That was my point. All of a sudden it went from a conference call that is a 5 game max to a in person which is infinite. Some new medical news has reached Shanny I suspect.

Maybe he just had some time to sleep on it and watch it again and he realized how (frank)ed up it was.

I'll stop the head shots, right now....ready?.....wait for it......GET RID OF THE INSTIGATOR PENALTY . If someone knew there was a serious beating coming at the end of that elbow, I'd be willing to bet good money that the elbow would stay down, where it belongs....

Nahh, that wouldn't do a thing. Who on the Canucks would Keith of been deathly afraid of? That's right, no one! So, Kassian or Lapierre or Bieksa goes over and starts throwing punches at Keith, he turtles, big deal, no serious pain. The only thing that getting rid of the instigator rule will do is encourage teams to employ a guy that can't skate worth poop to play 3 or 4 shifts per game.

Edit: If you want to get serious about removing the head shots you have to get serious about the discipline - this should be a "Dale Hunter" type suspension, 20 games, that would send a message!

PS, I kind of like the Cap idea, except giving extra cap to the penalized team would create issues. Perhaps they implement a cap penalty, so while a player is suspended there is an extra fine that counts against the cap (paid by the team). Maybe and extra 30% of the player's salary or something...

Keith should be suspended the rest of the season, including playoffs. Doan should have gotten the same. Maybe then these (frank)ing morons won't throw their elbows around instead of using their bodies.

How quickly VAN fans forget about the unpunished head-shot Brent Seabrook took from Torres in the playoffs last year.
