I agree He should have got one or two games also . I think now that he is missing time because of injury it is moot and I don't think any further action will follow .Maybe a fine.

This is a reasonable point of view, thx

From Vancouver Sun:
Asked specifically if Keith had threatened Daniel before the hit, Henrik delivered a little more Swedish sarcasm: “You have to ask Keith. He’s a tough Canadian guy, so I am sure he is going to be honest.”

If Keith wasn't a tough Canadian guy, he could have dropped like a ton of bricks when D.Sedin hit him in the corner. A lot of lesser players would have done that and Sedin may have faced disciplinary actions. In such a Liberal country, I'm surprised he gets away with that type of prejudice.

There has not been a nucks fan that has come onto this board and had a discussion.
- HawksHype

Thats not true.

There were some yesterday and even one guy in this thread said Sedin deserved something as well.

There are a lot of good Canuck fans on this site, there is also a lot of them that are nothing but trolls/homers.

Keith deserves ten, and Sedin deserves nothing for the hit on Keith? Please.

Here's another way of looking at it. How much did you think Kronwall deserved for the hit on Kesler 12/21? Honestly. Don't lie for the sake of argument. Tell the truth.

And how much did he get?

I know they're somewhat different kinds of plays. But was there intent to injure in both cases? Yes. Any idiot knows it.

Does Kronwall have a track record of trying to take guys heads off (even though some of his hits are clean)? Yes.

I have no issue with suspending Keith. But it's time Shanahan stopped soft-pedaling certain guys. It's become laughable. And yes, anyone asking, I do think Kronwall is guilty of dirty hits almost as often as not.

Some are clean. Some are not.

- John Jaeckel

Two great points here. Again, Keith deserves a suspension but where is the consistency in the giving out the suspensions? I don't like to see anyone get hurt let alone their careers threatened. Kronwall put a head shot on Kessler no suspension. Englund from the Pens puts a head shot on Krueger and he suffers a concussion again no suspension. This issue is much bigger than just a Hawks vs Canucks thing. Rest assured no team or player is immune from this happening to them until the NHL gets it's s..t together.

I knew that when the suspension was handed down that people still wouldn't let it go. There had to be complaining from both sides about whether it was too long or too short.

It's 5 games. It's more than fair. End of discussion.

As for the Hawks, I assume they'll pair Seabs with Hammer, Keep Leddy and Oduya together and partner OD with Olsen for 7-9 minutes on the third pair. I doubt they'll bring anyone up from Rockford. They're not gonna rush Monty, lepisto's out. Block says if they call anyone up it'll be Stanton, but I think what we have is what we have.

Of course Q can follow Montador around during next practice and say "You look awesome out here...." the way Laviolette did with Giroux on 24/7....

Can not wait for Sunday's game. This dead horse has taken enough straps......

I thought Kronwall deserved a few games for that type of hit ,and I think Kesler deserved games also for the Clutterbuck hit. Any time you try to end someone career it need to have a vacation assessed to it.I think as fans we have to be honest and get this crap out of the game no matter who does it.

I know we have been spoiled by watching Hossa play. He never dives, even though he could.
- powerenforcer

You're right. Hossa is one guy who constantly see trying to fight through checks or stick work.

And most of the time, that usually gets a penalty called more than diving does.

Diving is one of those things that pisses me off when other players do it but not when the Hawks benefit from it

I don't have a huge issue with it. Extreme for a first timer, IMO. But . . . I even concede that Sedin missing some games due to the hit is punishment enough for him.

I have a huge issue with Shanahan's consistency on the topic.

As do we all. No fanbase in the league think that NHL officiating is credible .

Will Monty be back vs Nashville ?
- southernhawk

Has he even been cleared to play. I was figuring Sami and OD sharing time and wouldn't mind - in fact like - seeing JO on the first pairing with Seabs.

That being said it was a great game the other night. I had no problem with the scrums and the ill feelings. If it was a love in it would not be the best rivalry in hockey . I loved the game.

I have to admit I thought the Keith hit was cheap and Pri$ey sent me the video of the original hit and I seen it was a cheap shot also.

I really hope the NHL cracks down on divers. The part I just don't understand (maybe someone who plays can help me understand), all we hear is how players are bigger and stronger, better skaters, yet how easy they fall when a stick hooks them in the arm. How does a stick around the elbow pull someone down?

Don't the refs understand the game, the players, and surroundings around them, or are they just trained to judge the result?

Do you play hockey? These guys go fast and focus on puckhandling. If you get pulled around the elbow, it's often enough to throw you off balance.
