I would trade Plekanec for a winger.
The fact montreal has "4" top 6 wingers in Gionta, Cole, Pacioretty and Bourque, is not good enough. As Pacioretty is the only legit 1st line winger and even he could be considered a second on some teams. Im tired of seeing Moen on the top 6 wing.
Why do you think Plekanec and Eller have struggles? Not their lack of skill, but their lack of wingers. In all reality they may both be 2nd line centers, just like desharnais, but the fact there are just as many second line centers on the team as top 6 wingers tells me they need one. Eller has more natural talent, costs less, and is younger/bigger. I would trade Plekanec for a winger.
Let
Paci-Desh-Cole (be first for one more year)
Winger-Eller-Gionta be second (winger a player like Perron that Plek could get?)
Moen-Leblanc-Geoffrion/draft pick(draft pick if forsberg could move up for Gio)
Blunden-White-Staubitz(or player like staubitz)
Subban-Gorges
Markov-Emelin
Signed Dman-Diaz
Kaberle(if they can't get rid of him)
Balance is key to the lineup. You need players to be playing their proper roles. Balance is what montreal needs to start moving towards. No more of this 7 centerman lineup with Moen playing on every line every night. |
