I have no idea. Never mentioned the marketing thing versus his contract status so I don't know and don't think it's really worth getting into. - funmaster18
Exactly. I'm just trying to say that Suter and Carle are on the same level even with Suter being slightly better why is it that Suter is marketed well and Carle isnt? What does Suter do so well in his game that warrants that? Thats all I have been trying to figure out. Ill let it go now cause I dont know if there is an answer to it. |

I don't k ow who his replacement would be. All I know is I don't want to go over 5.5 for him and wouldn't go 7 for Suter. maybe there is a guy under the radar that can do really well, like how they got a guy like Grossman that no one knew well. - funmaster18
Totally agree. |
|
|
|
I understand that. So who would be considered an upgrade over Carle if he were to walk? This is where a name means less to me than a player who can fill a role and fits what your trying to do. - stveshdy
This years crop of UFA D-Men isn't all that appealing. Suter is the best by a wide margin. Dennis Wideman is another guy I recall being a UFA at seasons end. There is always a premium placed on D-men, and you can bet guys are going to be dramatically overpaid. |

I'm sure he has a plan. I actually think Homer will make a trade to add a defenseman then to overpay in UFA. |

He might from a team like Edmonton, though.
I'd stay in Philly, but if someone gives him a 5 yr ~27M deal, then he might go. - Marc D
Here is the one thing that scares me.
Coots, Schenn, JvR, Simmonds, Voracek, Reader....
We have a ton of young talent offensively.. and i could see them moving a player to improve on defense. I just dont want it to be an older d-man.. |

I would be surprised if Louisville played Kentucky within 10 points. Kentucky is just loaded with talent. Latest NBA mock draft has four Kentucky kids going in the top 15 picks. I despise Calipari, he's a mercenary recruiting these one and done uber talents. I'm hoping he gets beat in New Orleans, I just can't see it happening unfortunately. - PLindbergh31
Well Calipari is exactly as you describe. I don't like him either (am I allowed to type that from my office on the UK campus). But he is also a better coach than the last bozo - Billy "DUI" Gillespie - they had. The consistency of his teams speaks to that. UK has always had talent coming in, but Calipari gets them to play together and win in their one year before going pro. |

I honestly think that Suter gets a ton of recognition because he plays with Weber. The two make for a lethal pairing. They are both very good everywhere on the ice. I think Carle just is a quieter player than Suter. |

I met Prince and Tubby Smith back in 2001 and Rondo in 2005ish so I became a fan of UK because of that.
I was never a fan of Gillespie but Calipari is a local Pittsburgh guy so he is A. O. K. in my book. ha |

Carle played with Pronger, why no hype there? SCF's together. |

I agree. Coach Cal is the man. So what he gets kids that come one year and leave its starting to happen everywhere including Duke (Rivers). The guy knows how to coach and gets the best out of his players.

Jvr is the scary name in there, there was so much trade talk a while back with his name being thrown around.
Reminds of the Carter to Columbus deals before it actually happened.
I thought, NFW they trade a guy after signing him to a long term deal. |

Very possible. I'm sure this opens up many more options. Well have plenty of time to worry about it after the playoffs. Right now I'm just hoping for the shortest offseason possible this year. And hopefully something to show for it |

IF Bryzgalov continues to play the way he has during March the Flyers have a great chance at going deep into the playoffs. |

That's because weber and Suter make each other better while Pronger carried Carle on his back |

Always a possibility. Right now there is somewhat of a forward surplus, I can see a forward being moved to sure up the backend. The situation with Pronger kind of hamstrings their options. I'm sure come July 1, it won't be known if Pronger will be able to play again or not. |

Gillespie wasn't qualified to be the UK coach. Not sure why they hired him. |

Calipari is from Moon Twshp if I'm not mistaken. Suburb of Pittsburgh correct? |
