If the difference between Carle and Suter is approx. 1.5 million per season, (or roughly the cost of Shelley's cap hit) it's a no brainer to me. Suter does everything better, why not pay the premium and get the superior player?

I think it'll be hilarious to hear people female dog about Suter if he signs here for $7mm and isn't a huge upgrade on Carle...because he won't be. Then we'll hear people complain about paying an elite price tag for a very good player.

Wife is. I'm imported so to me it is meh. In fact I have not paid much attention to college BB since I became a hard - core hockey fan. It will be NUTS here on game day though. If they win it all I am heading for the safety of my basement, just like when the tornadoes rolled through. It will be absolute chaos. Like Habs fans after having their sense of entitlement crushed with a first round loss, only happy. They were burning couches in the streets last week just for making the final four.

IMO, Suter's not worth $7mm. I wouldn't like to go above $6-$6.5mm at the most. I agree he's better than Carle, but it's not like the gap between Shea Weber and Johnny Boychuk.

Sign Grossmann and Carle. Think about a one year deal for Kubina or look into finding another (younger) big crease clearer if Pronger isn't coming back. Be super sweet if Prongs actually can make it back, then you waive Shelley and do whatever else is necessary to fit him under the cap. Boom. Done. I'm pretty happy with the make up of the blue line.

This isnt a "knock" on Carle but how come he never gets voted to the All-Star game? Do you think people dont get to see him enough to showcase how good his skills are? Do the Flyers do a bad job with their PR to have this guys name out there? I think about what you said, that Suter isnt that much of an upgrade over Carle but I cant figure out why this guy doesnt get that respect.
