Watch the vid again.
He had NO time to avoid hitting McQuaid.

I watched it multiple times. Again, I've seen players peel off with less time and space.

It looks that way in slow motion but I don't think he had enough time to peel off there when I watch it in real time

Chimera was nearly hip-to-hip with McQ when he turned.
Avoiding that hit is impossible.

he had a night like that against Buffalo. I believe it might have been the game we shut them out. He came in in relief and at some point, it might have been during warmups he completely fell on his ass and then during the 3rd period he fell again and we scored. Guy can't seem to stay on his skates. Maybe he needs to have a discussion with the equipment manager.

Why are people surprised by this? its his style... the hasek "flop around" style of goaltending.. it requires great athleticism and some luck.

Without defenseman collapsing low and saving his ass.. he wouldn't be as dominating as he has been some games.

The problem I have is that McQuaid knows he is about to get hit. 5-10 years ago the player on the receiving end would have never positioned themselves like that.

Sometimes these players have to help themselves out.

I'm at the point where I would rather the Penguins lose the game playing the right way, with Miller stealing it, than winning if they play like they did against the Islanders if that makes any sense.

I'm not saying McQuaid shared no blame in the situation. If you turn like that, you do leave yourself vulnerable. It's like stepping out into a one way street when you see a car going the wrong way in it. Ultimately, it's your fault for putting yourself for putting yourself in that position, but the driver going the wrong way is still an ass hole.

My issue is the the lack of outrage at the lack of response. We all got on the Sabres case for doing nothing. Boston did nothing here and not a word.

That is a valid point. In the finals of our Penguins Hockeybuzz hockey league, Lucic would have done me a solid with some PIM's.

Agreed, he turns at the last second. If you look Chimera still hits the outside of the left shoulder, because thats where his body shouldve been had he kept going along the boards. Its was a charging penalty no doubt, but the dman has to realize he cant turn his face into the boards like that at the last second

Why does NHL.com have the Sabres in 8th still?

Sabres have a game in hand I believe. If the Sabres lose in regulation tonight I think they will drop to 9th.

Ya but its not exactly a tie-breaker having a game in hand. The standings should have us in 9th. Not a bit issue, but you would think NHL.com would go by the book on these things
