Nobody could physically dominate the game, and offensively dominate the game the way Lindros could. Forsberg and Lindros was similar offensively, but in physicality Lindros blows him away. - jak521
You misremember my friend. Forsberg was a physical beast. The clip below is just a small sample towards the end of his career. I can also post several other clips including his all star reel. Lindros had a few inches and pounds on Foppa but pound for pound they were nearly identical beasts imo.
Does anyone have an JvR injury update? Now before anyone gets on me about "He'll get back when he gets back", just know that I'm not rushing him. I'm just asking because (and I know this might sound crazy) I'd like to know if he's on track and okay without any setbacks. The odds are against Pronger coming back at all but that doesn't stop me from wanting to know how he (The person) is doing. From my understanding, Meszaros may not return should we not get far in the playoffs but he's walking normal and is doing well. So again, how is JvR doing?
Again I'd like to point out that I am happy to have Lappy, Betts and Leighton off the books next season for the single reasoning that I think it's best that we're not so close to the 50 cap limit. These contracts may not hurt us from adding talent but it doesn't help us either. I'd much prefer a young player that we can bring up and down at will signed right out of college or university to take on those spots.

Prognosis has always been late first round return. Haven't heard anything at all recently, so I'll take that as a good thing.

I saw that this morning on NHL Network and began cracking up... As much as I want LA to be in the finals with the Flyers, man its funny. - RooNosHockey
I think the kings deserve to miss the playoffs. All the talent to go through there and they continue to struggle year in and year out. Just when you think theyve turned a corner, they regress.

The fact that you even think to look into that stuff is what sets you apart from the rest - funmaster18
The Jayson Stark of hockey coverage? (This is not a bad thing. Jayse is faboo at the funny and the arcane, but he's also damned good when there's a real story to be reported.)

It's Gagne's fault if they miss. - rockychocbill
Well if they are truly flyers west, richie, cartsey, and gags will all have off season surgery on their wrist, hip, or shoulder, explaining their early season exit.

Some people try to say Getzlaf, or Ovechkin, are "Lindros" like players. But they are not.
Lindros was an aberration, a freak, something that we may never see again. He was an enforcer with little man skills. A huge man who used his size like a hammer, and had the skills and the hands comparable to any player in the game.....better than most.
I hated the way things ended with the Flyers and could not be happier that he is back in the fold. I will go to any means to be at his Flyers Hall of Fame ceremony next season. (you KNOW there will be one) - MBFlyerfan
That video someone linked to yesterday just reminded me what an absolute beast he was. He was a one-man wrecking crew and then you add the shots, both wrist and slap; the vision; the passing. He made Trent Klatt look like a good hockey player for heaven's sake. Talk about making the players around you better.

I dont misremember at all... Forsberg is my favorite player of all time. I wear #21 today because of him.
He was super physical and used his body to shield the puck and put players on their cans all the time. Could throw checks and what not. But part of being physical is having the size to go with it. Pound for pound they are not that drastically far off.. but Forsberg's total physical package (size and fighting ability included) compared to Lindros' is just no match. Lindros was a fearsome physical menace. He was mean to boot. Didnt care if you were hurt, didnt care if you were in a vulnerable position. He was the epitome of a Superstar Power Forward.
