The Jayson Stark of hockey coverage? (This is not a bad thing. Jayse is faboo at the funny and the arcane, but he's also damned good when there's a real story to be reported.) - bodiva88
Agree.

I dont misremember at all... Forsberg is my favorite player of all time. I wear #21 today because of him.
He was super physical and used his body to shield the puck and put players on their cans all the time. Could throw checks and what not. But part of being physical is having the size to go with it. Pound for pound they are not that drastically far off.. but Forsberg's total physical package (size and fighting ability included) compared to Lindros' is just no match. Lindros was a fearsome physical menace. He was mean to boot. Didnt care if you were hurt, didnt care if you were in a vulnerable position. He was the epitome of a Superstar Power Forward. - jak521
You said Lindros blew him away. Which is it then?
EDIT: I don't factor in the fighting part. But if that is a main criteria, then yes, Eric has the edge by far. Forsberg was mean too. Look at the clip again. The guys (Malone and Talbot) are in vulnerable positions too. He didn't care. |

I'm looking forward to a Carcillo type playoff goal celebration at some point though. |

Jake is a werewolf and Harts is a sasquatch. If they both grow their chins out then they will have Simms at their mercy. |

Was it Talbot that said he could still play today if he dropped 20 lbs? |

Jagr, and it was damn funny
So strange (but awesome) to see an exchange like that between the two of them and in flyers jerseys too |

You misremember my friend. Forsberg was a physical beast. The clip below is just a small sample towards the end of his career. I can also post several other clips including his all star reel. Lindros had a few inches and pounds on Foppa but pound for pound they were nearly identical beasts imo.
- rockychocbill
No way. While Forsberg was certainly a physical player in his own way. He really doesn't match up to Lindros. Lindros could just destroy people. Not only during regular play, but could fight almost anyone in the League in a fight. Forsberg doesn't match up to that. I think Jak is right, Lindros was one of a kind. Not that Forsberg wasn't in his own way.

Does anyone have an JvR injury update? Now before anyone gets on me about "He'll get back when he gets back", just know that I'm not rushing him. I'm just asking because (and I know this might sound crazy) I'd like to know if he's on track and okay without any setbacks. The odds are against Pronger coming back at all but that doesn't stop me from wanting to know how he (The person) is doing. From my understanding, Meszaros may not return should we not get far in the playoffs but he's walking normal and is doing well. So again, how is JvR doing?
Again I'd like to point out that I am happy to have Lappy, Betts and Leighton off the books next season for the single reasoning that I think it's best that we're not so close to the 50 cap limit. These contracts may not hurt us from adding talent but it doesn't help us either. I'd much prefer a young player that we can bring up and down at will signed right out of college or university to take on those spots. - roenick97
You have the same access to the info that everyone else has. There's been no change since the initial prognosis.
