The Jayson Stark of hockey coverage? (This is not a bad thing. Jayse is faboo at the funny and the arcane, but he's also damned good when there's a real story to be reported.)
- bodiva88

I read his articles religiously back when I actually followed baseball. Jayson's writing might be the only thing I really miss about baseball.

Eagles LT Jason Peters will undergo surgery April 2 for a ruptured Achilles suffered in a recent workout.

Good News for Eagles fans.

9-12 months. So his season is pretty much over. King Dunlap was re-signed and will take his place for now.

I just hope the flyers don't feel too good about themselves. Beating up a bad team is not impressive. Although, last year's team would have won 7 to 6

No way. While Forsberg was certainly a physical player in his own way. He really doesn't match up to Lindros. Lindros could just destroy people. Not only during regular play, but could fight almost anyone in the League in a fight. Forsberg doesn't match up to that. I think Jak is right, Lindros was one of a kind. Not that Forsberg wasn't in his own way.
- MJL

I took exception to the "blows him away" part of Jak's comment. I also mentioned that I don't take the fighting aspect into consideration. Lindros WAS the bigger beast overall for sure, but pound for pound Forsberg was right up there in terms of skill, physicality and nasty imo.

It was a welcomed sight to see Eric Lindros donning a Flyers practice jersey and skating with the team yesterday in Toronto. Fences have been mended, largely as a result of the efforts of Paul Holmgren, and the Big E is now part of the Flyers family again ever since the big "family reunion" that was the Winter Classic Alumni Game.

I know this doesn't count, but didn't Danny B have a goal and 4 assists in an All Star game when he was a Sabre?

You said Lindros blew him away. Which is it then?

EDIT: I don't factor in the fighting part. But if that is a main criteria, then yes, Eric has the edge by far. Forsberg was mean too. Look at the clip again. The guys (Malone and Talbot) are in vulnerable positions too. He didn't care.

- rockychocbill

Just getting back from a busy spurt in my day...

In that clip Pierre says that for the 16 years that he has been watching Forsberg, that has gotta be about the angriest he has ever seen him play. Lindros was like that every game, and when he got pissed he was the scariest player in the game, possibly ever.

Eric had size that Forsberg could only dream of. Coupled with that, he had the ability to play the same speed game that Forsberg could. Lindros was a much scarier player in my opinion. The fact that he had 4-5 inches and 35 lbs on Forsberg may be the reason, but to me Lindros was way more physically assertive. Im not speaking lb for lb, but in actuality.
