Just getting back from a busy spurt in my day...
In that clip Pierre says that for the 16 years that he has been watching Forsberg, that has gotta be about the angriest he has ever seen him play. Lindros was like that every game, and when he got pissed he was the scariest player in the game, possibly ever.
Eric had size that Forsberg could only dream of. Coupled with that, he had the ability to play the same speed game that Forsberg could. Lindros was a much scarier player in my opinion. The fact that he had 4-5 inches and 35 lbs on Forsberg may be the reason, but to me Lindros was way more physically assertive. Im not speaking lb for lb, but in actuality. - jak521
Forsberg was plenty physical in his own right -- and had just as much of a mean streak -- as Lindros. Forsberg had a Bobby Clarke-like NEED to win, and would do it by any means necessary. But, yes, Lindros would get the edge in terms of ability to deliver freight-train hits.
Lindros had the heavier shot, Forsberg had the better ice vision and passing ability (not that Lindros was any slouch). Forsberg was better without the puck and more consistently responsible defensively. Lindros was better on faceoffs.
Either which way, we're talking about elite players. |

Forsberg was also a better dangler. He turned Lidstrom into a pillar of salt in that clip I posted earlier. |

Oh I completely agree with you.. I was speaking in terms of Lindros being a more physically dominating character on the ice.
Forsberg is my favorite player of all time. Here is a guy who was about 6' 200lbs but would back down from nobody. The thing with Forsberg was that he always inspired me. He had no quit in his game, and it really burned me that people threw fits about him coming and going from the game. The guy wanted to play the game more than just about anybody. He would play in all areas of the ice, and muck and grind when need be, but he just wasnt as physically menacing as Lindros. Its not a shot at him either.
Lindros may possibly be (as someone said earlier) a once in a lifetime combination of skill and size. He could do anything.. and unfortunately only concussions could stop him.. and they did. |

This is it in a nutshell. No player brought this combination of skill and sheer menace that Lindros did. He could score with anyone, pass with anyone, skate with anyone, and fight with anyone.
He was scary like no other player in the history of the game as far as I am concerned.

Why can't Canada get their act together for their 2 most storied franchises? Montreal and Toronto are sloppy messes. Either the coach can't speak french or he can't draft but never both. It's too bad - I'd like to see how wild those 2 franchises can be when their teams are playoff bound. |

Eagles LT Jason Peters will undergo surgery April 2 for a ruptured Achilles suffered in a recent workout.
Good News for Eagles fans. - stveshdy
The good news for Peters is, he's only carrying 350+ pounds, if he were a heavy man it would make this injury all the more difficult to come back from. |
