And Bob Daily also told them to spend wisely that there may not be anything in the new CBA to bail them out.

And the cap number is not going to be set in stone like previous years.

How fast or what will be in the new CBA is unknown since they aren't even talking yet

What did Bill Daly have to say? I love the Count, but he's probably golfing and drinking beers

In any CBA in sports, they don't negotiate until the existing one is about to expire. That's normal. The League is going to operate under the current CBA, and there will be a Cap figure announced just like any other year under this CBA.

I think it's reasonable to expect that the League isn't going to place their teams in a position where they'll have to scramble to get Cap compliant. There will be a mechanism put in place for the teams to meet the requirements of the new CBA.

Oh noes! This handicaps this board - since we lean on MJL for Capknowlogy.

/semi-sarcasm (the dude knows the CBA better than Nick Yemana knows the back of his hand)

It seems it was Bettman, unless a Daly article turns up.

"Commissioner Gary Bettman wrapped up three days of meetings by telling the 30 GMs that they shouldn't operate any differently than they currently are.

Bettman indicated that increased revenues will drive the salary cap up this summer, although it might end up going back down once a new CBA is negotiated."

and something similar in this article

I don't want to jinx our team before we've even entered the playoffs but the Flyers have beaten the Pens 3 of the 4 times they've faced them so far this season. The only time the Pens have beaten the Flyers this season was a poop fest of bad calls and our goaltending at it's lowest possible point. The way our goaltenders are playing right now, I couldn't even imagine them returning to that horrible form. Should we face the Pens in the first round, I sure am glad we have Talbot and Jagr. It just seems Jagr plays his best hockey against his old team. He may have no resisted any points in his last outing against them, I thought he played his best game against them. He was dancing around players including Sidney Crosby.

It's going to be a tough series but I think this team has much more of a chance than either the '09 or '08 team.

Not even one number. But I came home to a letter from the USGA that I'm a Merion U.S. Open volunteer for 2013. And that's kind of like winning a lottery.

i had one ticket with 3 of the numbers, and another with the megaball, so at least i get 1 dollar back.

as of now, 1 winning ticket is known to have been sold in maryland for the $640 million jackpot.

excuse me, while i go throw up.
