IDK yet. I have to see the matchups, and the series odds.
With Crosby back, and the Pens having home ice, they will be a fairly big favorite. Probably something in the -180 range. - PLindbergh31
Pens are the favorite right now at +375. Vancouver 2nd at +550. The ones I think I would lay money on is St.Louis at +700 or Boston at +850.
I mean I like the Pens to win it all but not at those odds. I don't feel like they have that much better of a chance.
FYI- Flyers +1100 right now. That's intriguing too. |

Because it's 4 on 4 and it's wide open Hockey?

What does the loser get in any of those scenarios? Zero? |

I meant -180 to win the series vs. the Flyers, not win the Cup.
Flyers will post a 100+ point season, and play the team favorite to win the cup in the first round.
LAUGH-A-BLE. Is what it is, I guess. |

I would be good with either of those. I just don't like teams being rewarded for losing. |

Because it's 4 on 4. I'd be fine with your approach, too. I just ultimately want the shootout to be less important than winning the game |

Maybe because of the 4 on 4?
I used to be against changing the point system because I'm a traditionalist and it would screw up comparing teams from different eras point-wise, but who really knows the highest season point total anyway? |

Shootout is not "real" hockey. Even I agree on that. Any team that makes it to the SO deserves 1 point. Otherwise scrap the whole thing. |

Yes, you should always get a point for what is essentially a tie game. |

Then its 3 for reg or OT win and 2 for SO win and 1 for SO loss. Still my favorite scenario. |

What's the difference between OT and shootout? Both teams sat back in the third and played for the OT to get the point locked away. What's to stop teams from laying back in the OT to lock up the sure point? That's the other thing I want to avoid. No sitting back and playing for the point. |

Hockey vs. skills comp. I like the skills comp, because I hate ties and I think hockey is unique because it's man vs. man. If the "game" ends in a tie then the eventual loser still earned a point imo. |

Well, in a perfect world, it'd be 2 points for a win and 1 for a tie, with no shootout. |

This is really what it comes down to for me. I'd personally prefer two points for a win at any point in the game, and no points for a loss at any point in the game. |
