4 things I know for certain after today's game:
1-You guys would love what Bylsma and the Pens did at the end of the game if the situation was reversed. Anyone here that says otherwise is a hypocrite.
2-For a group that prides itself on the toughness of its team, I see just as much if not more whining about what Penguins do from Flyers fans than the level of female doging about what the Flyers are doing to the Pens on our board.
3-This group of Flyers is much better prepared to play the Pens than the last two teams lead by the gutless wonders Mike Richards and Jeff Carter. Maybe Talbot has transplanted some desire and determination into your bunch. (Remember how you all used to hate him?) I don't know what the outcome will be, but it will be a close series.
4.-The second that Bryz gives up a softie that gives a game to the Pens, the annual Philadelphia goaltending controversy will be in full swing. - Emperor Filonius
1. You are right, the indignity on both sides is a bit ridiculous.
2. Both teams were chippy as hell today.
3. I wouldn't go that far about Richards and Carter, but yes, I think this years team is built for a long run.
4. Bryz's softies were as much a product of poor team defense as anything else. As long as the Flyers play their defensive game, Bryz will be the Bryz we have seen since the all star break.
Frankly there is a little too much whining from both sides of the fence today. Both teams have their chippy players.

Echoed my comment right above here sir. As exciting as it may be of a series the team to come out will be skating wounded. - kgrpitt
Well on your side, at least the Penguins will start the series somewhat healthy, the Flyers will be a MASH Unit. No Pronger, JVR, or Meszaros. And who knows the status of Grossmann or Bryzgalov at this point. |

What happened at the end of the game has happened in plenty of other rivalries...Hell in non-rival games it's happened, too. I don't care for it, but it didn't especially bother me, either.
The second point bugs the crap out of me. Both the Flyers and Pens, as well as 28 other teams, have guys who play chippy and even dirty. Giroux got away with a slash. Crosby got away with a slash. Malkin got away with a spear...to pretend one side or the other is simon pure and not guilty of sin is being a moron. Hockey can be a violent game. Emotions get high. Guys get angry. poop happens.
The last two points are immaterial. Carter and Richards are the past. The Philly goalie drama is a by product of a lousy media.

I haven't seen anything. I am VERY apprehensive about this. As far as I am concerned he has been the anchor of the defense since he arrived. It will be a massive loss if he is out for an extended time.

Day to Day per Holmgren, but we have seen that doesn't mean anything. I'm hoping for the best. |

I loved the game today and when the playoffs start its gonna be friggin crazy. Like it has been stated it was a clean hit and guys backed each other up. Everything today is leading to one hell of a playoff series, I can only hope Grossmann is ok and will rest him until the playoffs begin |

I'm getting seriously tired of some Flyers fans posting their indignity about what went on today as if our team is pure as Lilly white driven snow. Get over it.

Today's game reminded me of some old time hockey. What I do like is the fact the Flyers young guys like Schenn and Couturier (our future) were not going to be intimadated by Crosby or Malkin. I was impressed by their actions today on the ice. |

No idea with Lilja. No clue what the injury is. Can't even keep track of them these days.
Holmgren gave up two second round picks to acquire Kubina, and Grossmann. 1. To try and replace the skill set Pronger brings, and 2. To avoid having to play two rookies in the playoffs in MAB, and Gus. Well right now there is a chance Bourdon and Gustafsson will start the playoffs. I think they are more capable than guys like Krajicek, Parent, and Bartulis. |

, IMO it happens and Schenn was returning the favor that Malkin did to Roo. It happens and both sides have their players that play scrappy. Its hockey, that shyt happens... - bigmookalookie
Exactly, and it is why we love it!

No question about it. The trust Couturier has earned from being responsible defensively and always being in the right position is amazing. He's a 19 year old kid, who has the hockey awareness of a 30 year old 10 year veteran. I'm stunned how good of a player he is at this stage of his career. |
