The reason those guys hadn't been out there for 12 minutes was because prior to that it was a 1-2 goal game. Those guys came out for the faceoff after the empty netter. Since it was now a 3 goal game with just over a minute left and Sid malkin and neal had just been out for an extended shift there was no reason to leave them out there. So at that point like many teams do when the outcome is decided either way bylsma let the scrubs get some ice time. Then laviolette and the flyers on the ice got all worked up over a clean hit. And granted the penguins on ice were happy to oblige them but they weren't out there instigating.

I'm not complaining that the coach put out his 4th line thats his call but Lavi has the right to stand up for his team because he felt it was unnecessary for the 4th line to be out there late in the game unless your looking for trouble. Will see what happens next Saturday when they play each other again.

I think this whole US vs THEM thing seems stupid. Why do the fanbases constantly try to be right? Malkin punched Giroux in the head a couple times, Crosby went after Schenn, Schenn crosschecks Crosby from behind, Hartsy was swinging his stick around just as much as Crosby. Lavi lost it a little bit, granted having your 4th line out under 2 minutes in a huge divisional game when they're only down 2 isn't something you would do, UNLESS, you're trying to send a message, which Vitale did with a clean hit. And the Flyers are no wrong for going after him.

Now you're talking about 2 different instances when I was talking about 1. So no, not false. If you want to argue about the knee that's fine, that argument starts in 5 minutes on the Rangers board.

So you look at one event in a game to be separate, unrelated, and irrelevant to all other events in the game? I wasn't arguing about anything, but to say nothing was 'cheap' and injured a player, you'd be wrong.

I heard (now take this with a grain of salt) on 94 WIP that Bryz could play on Tuesday versus the Rags. Nothing that I've heard yet on Grossmann.

Aside from the WWE aspects of yesterday's game anyone heard anything on Bryz or Grossmann? Did the Flyers give Grossmann an MRI or what?

Why do they only have to be out there to cause trouble? They had other non eventful shifts. They didn't throw out a Steve macintyre Georges laraque type lineup. T wasn't like the devils rangers game a couple weeks ago. And the whole thing escalated when the flyers and laviolette lost it over a clean hit. Had the flyers just played the game after a clean hit it would have been nothing. Instead the flyers on the ice circled back and went after vitale and we all know what happens next.

You're right, they had just scored the empty netter and Kunitz buried one at the 30 second mark. Still, your 4th line hadn't been on the ice for almost 15 minutes of the 3rd. Are England, Asham and Vitale going to give your team an offensive spark? We all know why they were out there.

I don't think they need to leave Crosby or Malkin out on the ice. The Flyers coach is questioning the decision to stick out his 4th line that didnt play for over 12mins. I guess Pitts doesnt have a 2nd or 3rd line to put out there in the last minute. Again, I have no problem with the decision but it seems like your asking for trouble by putting those players out on the ice.

No but speaking about WWE, anyone see Taker is 20-0 in Mania's and the Rock laid the smack down on Cena "Sux".

It was just difficult to see the 4 horseman get inducted into the hall, and Mike Tyson... but they leave out Benoit... I know what he did was horrible, but come on... You cant have the horseman without Benoit... Besides.. It wasnt him it was the drugs.

Actually hope that is true about Bryz. He's prone to being rusty when coming back from a layoff. A couple games would be huge for him to kick off the rust.

The argument was why Bylsma had the players on the ice he did at the end of the game. Events from the entire game probably went into that decision, yes.

Should they not have gone after him? Theres 60 seconds left in the game. You can't fault Vitale for the hit, and you definitely can't fault Simmonds and Schenn making a b-line towards him either.
