Why did they quit their jobs and why are they moving without having new jobs
- Oilhab

They quit their jobs because they are MOVING and getting jobs in Toronto.

Here you go slick have a read.

Scotty Bowman was the Director of Player Development for the Penguins, and Pierre began a close friendship with Scotty that continues to this day. (Indeed, during our interview, Pierre took a moment to answer a call from Scotty.)

Pierre is grateful for what hockey and broadcasting has brought to his life. “I’m just 46 and I’ve travelled all over the world… I’ve kissed and held the Stanley Cup as a champion… I was a friend and co-worker of the late Bob Johnston… I have the respect and friendship of Scotty Bowman…

You have a condo you want to rent for $1500 monthly. Someone from Remax says two people are moving from Alberta and are offering you $9000 upfront, why wont you take it? The guy has tons of heavy equipment experence and the girl is a mass-transit driver with ETS for 4 years and hs already applied and got a confirmation from the TTC.

Maybe they are concerned that you may be deadbeats, because you are moving away from the busiest economy in Canada at a young age.

Get out there, buy a nice little travel trailer for 5-7K,, find your jobs. Get the condo, sell the trailer.

Have a read of this article from the Montreal Gazzette where Scott Bowman recommends Pierre McGuire to be the GM of Mtl.

Well the hiring process with TTC may take up to two months. He on the other hand has friends who have family at the Oakville Ford Assembly Plant and has a good chance of getting on there.

Here I'll include the part of the article in case you don't know how to use a link on the internet.

No less an authority than Scotty Bowman has recommended Pierre McGuire for the job. With Serge Savard in the front office, you can take as much time as you need to find his successor.

The media are the one promoting Roy as if he is the next savior. Curious to see who the next GM will be and who they will bring in to coach. Conneyworth didn't prove he deserves the job....the team is much worse then when JM was around.
- Symba007

Pretty easy to be a lot worse than when "The Count" was around because we don't have Gill, AK, Cammy, Gionta, Moen, etc... we have guys like Palushaj, Leblanc, St Denis, etc taking regular shifts. Not gonna lie, I'd rather watch the team that's "worse" compete and battle every night with a little shred of offense than watch JM's "system" at work for even another period. (frank) that.

who cares what someone said about a GM from 19 years ago, or why he hasn`t had a similar position in that length of time.

Well if they do have jobs then why the (frank) would they give your pretensious ass 6 months? They would go the normal route then and only give you 1st and last.

Agreed. Plus we should give Palushaj a real chance with Plekanec.
