The goal every year is the same, whatever makes the goal more attainable is what people should want.
Possibly playing 3 series vs. the Pens, Bruins, and Rags just to get to the Stanley Cup Finals decreases the odds of the goal infinitely. No way around it, no way to debate it. |

Oh, you of the level head.
Sure, solid efforts alone would work, especially in their own zone, but I wouldn't mind seeing a bit of dominance to close out the season.
I don't want them looking at Saturday just yet, either. Focus on tonight. - tangent_man
Exactly. Go out and play well. Win if you can. I'd be ecstatic with a 9-1 drubbing and elimination of the Sabres tonight, not because I hate the Sabres, but because I want to see the Flyers win. |

Yep, rather face one of the best teams early, before they are further banged up. Take them out early. Plus, we've faired very well against them. - funmaster18
I just look at it this way. Say they do get Florida in round one. And say they beat them in 5. Then say they get Boston in round two and get swept. Anyone think that they'd be satisfied and happy with that?
Certainly a road that sees them playing Pittsburgh in round one is more difficult. But I'll get no more satisfacton if they steamroll a weak sister in round one and then lose in round two.
It's not worth complaining about. Do what you have to do and get it done. |

Fortunately we have no control over it so I'll just sit back and enjoy the ride. I love this time of year |

I actually want Pittsburgh in the first round, and wouldn't mind the fifth seed.
I know that's borderline loser talk, but I really dislike Ted Leonsis and hope the Caps get left out of the playoffs so if we can help Buffalo in any way.... |

Why aren't the pairings
Timonen/coburn
Carle/bourdon
Lilja/kubina
I thought kubina and Lilja look good when they were together |

I will go you one better. Why aren't the parings
Pronger/Carle
Timonen/Grossmann
Meszaros/Coburn
That would be some defense core. |

I know. Although if Pronger wasn't on LTIR they may not have been able to fit Grossmann, but with all the other injuries it could have been possible. |

Tortorella would have been boxing Laviolette at center ice if the same thing happened during a Rags game. My money is on Laviolette though. |

I love the passion Laviolette has shown this year. He is a very good coach. I question some of his in game moves, but that would be the case with any coach.
Still racking my brain trying to figure out what the hell Briere was doing on the ice with a 6-3 lead in Pittsburgh with a powder keg brewing. |

agreed. i don't even care who/where they play/start the playoffs. just get there with no further injury and a dose of confidence.
i'm most interested in bryz's performance, not necessarily the outcome of the game. - hammarby31
100% agreed. Just to add to your dont care list: I dont care about Saturday's game either. Will be hard to play the hated pens in a laid back manner on Sat then go from 0 to 100 full throttle in the very next game, Game 1. . . |

At least Saturday's game is at 4pm...law of averages would tell you they are due to score in the first period in an afternoon game. |

I was secretly thinking that this morning.
What if He was actually feeing fine and starting having private workouts and was wating to see if we made it to the Eastern Finals and all of sudden made a surpise appreance. but then I woke up i feel so bad for him |
