Anyone who thinks the Devils will defeat the Panthers in fewer games it takes the Flyers to defeat the Pigeons has to have their head examined. - PLindbergh31
Never said the Panthers wouldn't be a challenge, but realistically, who wants to play the Penguins?
I am sure just about every hockey fan would say the Panthers are a more convenient match-up. Every team in the playoffs shouldn't be taken for granted. Personally, the Capitals might take the division, and that would be the most preferable situation. |

You summed up the fans of those teams very well there. Although the Bills finally showed some life this offseason. |

Fleury looked like he had a pretty strong game tonight, the Pens defense has been a little shaky down the stretch. I would rather take my shot against the Pens now while the Flower has been a little shaky.
I expect it to be a great series. |

Florida is gonna beat whoever they play in the first round. Some team is going to feel really dumb - eayost
lol glad you said it because i've been thinking it
they are gonna be so jacked |

Oh man... I was 8 years old when we were playing for the cup and I just love this GOD DAMN team so much.. Tears in my eyes right now. I'll never forget walking out of the arena when Uwe Krupp scored to win it for the Avs.. or when we got spanked by the Devils. But we are in. We are in, and while we won't the cup we will have playoff hockey down here I AM SO STOKED! - Panthers88
well crap now i feel bad |

Lemme know when the Flyers have 14 (going on 15) losing seasons in a row! - MrBuzzcut
Making the playoffs is a nice accomplishment, but when it's all said and done, no one cares about any team other than the team that wins the Championship. That's just the reality of it. There will never be another NFL team play in 4 straight Super Bowls, imo that's a heck of an accomplishment, but unfortunately those early 90s Bills teams are considered a punchline. |

Flyers have won 4 of 5 vs. the Penguins, once the playoffs start it doesn't mean anything, but I would rather win 4 of 5 heading into the playoffs, then lose 4 of 5. |

I think the Cats can play with the Debbies - Brodeur is mortal finally (it only took like almost 20 years). The Cats just can't give up any cheap goals. - ravishingone
Carolina ended Brodeurs run air of invincibility when they knocked them in, I forget, but they trailed by one with around a minute left and two past him to knock them out |

Certainly respect the Pens, and I would certainly feel a lot better if Grossmann is ready for game #1.

But being out of it with six months left in the season every season blows.
At least Flyers ownership has demonstrated that it wants to win. |

Unfortunately, I was sitting in the Spectrum during the Brodeur golden age, I can't wait for that guy to retire. I really hate him, but respect his brilliant career. |

It's tough to compare a sport that has a salary cap, to one that doesn't though. But I hear what you are saying. |

As a fan certainly the reality is that you want your team to be in the hunt, and in the playoffs. Just for the shear joy of being involved. There's a huge difference in having a team make the playoffs regularly versus not making it on a regular basis.
