Carolina ended Brodeurs run air of invincibility when they knocked them in, I forget, but they trailed by one with around a minute left and two past him to knock them out - KINGKENZO
not to sound bratty but as far as the flyers go i feel they ended that era of invincibility for him on apr 22 2010 |

Unfortunately, I was sitting in the Spectrum during the Brodeur golden age, I can't wait for that guy to retire. I really hate him, but respect his brilliant career. - ravishingone

Flyers have won 4 of 5 vs. the Penguins, once the playoffs start it doesn't mean anything, but I would rather win 4 of 5 heading into the playoffs, then lose 4 of 5. - PLindbergh31
Whoever comes out of that series is going to be beaten down and exhausted, most likely that game is going into seven games. It's going to be a hard-fought rivalry series. I seriously hope they play the Flyers/Pens on the days that the Devils don't play. I won't want to miss those games.

Probably only get the "we'll know more tomorrow" lines tonight.
Apparently Torts went off on the Pens in his presser.

Pens finally shored it up tonight. - Gunner Staal
I think may be better off being the "road" team in this series.
In Pitt we are 5 - 0 over the past two seasons:
2010-11 season: Thu Oct 7 2010 at Pit Philadelphia 3, Pittsburgh 2
2010-11 season: Fri Oct 29 2010 at Pit Philadelphia 3, Pittsburgh 2
2010-11 season: Tue Mar 29 2011 at Pit Philadelphia 5, Pittsburgh 2
2011-12 season: Thu Dec 29 2011 at Pit Philadelphia 4, Pittsburgh 2
2011-12 season: Sun Apr 1 2012 at Pit Philadelphia 6, Pittsburgh 4
In Philly, we are 3 and 3 over that span.
2010-11 season: Sat Oct 16 2010 at Phi Pittsburgh 5, Philadelphia 1
2010-11 season: Tue Dec 14 2010 at Phi Philadelphia 3, Pittsburgh 2
2010-11 season: Thu Mar 24 2011 at Phi Pittsburgh 2, Philadelphia 1 (SO)
2011-12 season: Thu Dec 8 2011 at Phi Philadelphia 3, Pittsburgh 2
2011-12 season: Sat Feb 18 2012 at Phi Pittsburgh 6, Philadelphia 4
2011-12 season: Sun Mar 18 2012 at Phi Philadelphia 3, Pittsburgh 2 (OT)
Of course, that was all pre 'rib-gate'.

It will be a tough series. In all honesty I don't think any Eastern Conf. Series will be easy for any team. |

Yeah. He did. I caught the tail end of his press conf. His douche-O-meter was set at about 9.7 tonight.

I think the Cats can play with the Debbies - Brodeur is mortal finally (it only took like almost 20 years). The Cats just can't give up any cheap goals. - ravishingone
Brodeur's play seems to be reverting back to the immortal status. He's been playing very, very well of late.
The Panthers have given us trouble this year, however, when the playoffs start, I like our chances against them also given the fact that almost every one of these Devils have something to prove. Only Sykora, Elias, and Brodeur remain from the Stanley Cup winning teams, compared to that team that played Carolina with Pandolfo, Madden, Elias, Rupp, Shanny, Holik, Gionta, Langenbrunner, Rolston, White, and that team didn't seem like they wanted it and weren't as desperate as this team should be. |

Same here, I just sat in disbelief in my seat till pretty the arena emptied- I just couldn't believe that shot went in over Hextall. Clarke was such a boob, no salary cap and didn't believe in spending on the goaltender position.

I agree, there's no easy match-up.
Yet at the same time, there's match-ups you would prefer to be in. I don't want any part of a fresh and streaking Penguins, nor do I want to face teams built for the playoffs like Boston and NYR in the first round, you'd rather have another team try to knock them off or wear them down.
Regardless, the playoffs should be great this year. |

I have a problem with the rangers this year. I mean...I just don't hate anyone on that team now that Avery is off. I really think flyers players have the same problem. This pens series gets the blood boiling. If we go down...there won't be much left of the pens |

I saw that rib story. I'm somewhat superstitious, so I have thought about this. The Flyers can simply send an anonymous member of their traveling contingent to the rib place and buy the ribs. Crisis averted.

I agree, but eventually to reach the goal each team has, you are going to have to beat whoever stands in front of you. |

Well, if he walks the talk, just about every interview talking about his personal stats he's said that all that matters is the Stanley Cup. From his interviews, he's focused on one thing, and that is winning the Cup. I think we will see Kovalchuk take his game to a whole 'nother level in the playoffs. |
