jvr will return, victorious. - Don'tForgetTocchet
I wouldn't bet on it. Still in a boot a month after surgery. He's a long way from playing.
Grossmann, and Briere are far more important. Wellwood, and Rinaldo have defined roles right now, and have played solid hockey. |

Shelley has played pretty well in these two games, but I'm not sure he would be very effective against the Penguins. - PLindbergh31
Shelley always plays well in the last few games of a season. It's what led to his current contract.

You're kidding me, right? - KGBflyers10
Not really. Kubina hasn't done anything that has been overly impressive imo, he's been injured, but I don't think he has played that well. Do you? |
|
|

I would not play MAB over Kubina. I'd play him over Gus, and might consider it over Lilja. This is of course assuming Grossman is available.

Yes and no. I think he's been really effective and one of the reasons why Bryz got his game turned around. Grossmann looks like the better fit, but I'm not discounting Kubina at all. MAB, while has looked pretty well the past two games, is not a replacement for Kubina at all, IMO. |

Fair points. It won't ever happen, so it's a moot point. Unless Kubina is injured and cannot play, he's going to be in the lineup.
I have my doubts that any of the injured guys will be back. |

Yes. He's steady, and not mistake-prone. He's a vet, and has won a Cup. He's huge, and plays with an edge. I don't think the Flyers didn't picked him up at the deadline to sit him during the playoffs in favor of a rookie.
Not that MAB has been bad. I just think if they want to get MAB some game time, Lilja is the odd man out. |

Yup. Grossmann is very important, no question. If he does play, how is his mobility and ability to play physical effected by the injury? A question no one has the answer to right now.
Briere is very important as well, he's a proven playoff point per game guy as a Flyer, when you replace him with a guy far below replacement level it compromises the scoring depth. |

Well, I'm not buying this back contusion business with Briere. His back wasn't the point of impact with the hit, nor did his back hit the ice. Excuse me for being cynical of the Flyers injury information. I believe the Easter bunny will drop off a basket of chocolate to me, more than I believe anything the Flyers say regarding injuries. |
