Idiot, that game was meaningless to the Rangers, you have the dirtiest, biggest crybaby team in the NHL...congrats!
- GioRock

You do understand how you are being a hypocrite when it comes to being a crybaby right?

TSN just showed the Top 10 Soundbytes of the NHL. 4 of them were Torts whining about something.

You must not be big morning people on the other side of the state. Perhaps a controversial statement will get things going.

I never understand the Leaf hate (except from Habs/Sens/Sabres fans - direct rivals). I think the playoffs are more interesting when Original 6'ers like the Habs/ Leafs are in (though not at the expense of my team).
- MadCap2008

Part of it stems from the fact that Pittsburgh is only a 5 hour drive from TO and they always seem to show up here with busloads of fans that have been doing nothing but getting loaded the whole trip down. 4 or 5 busloads of drunk, belligerent Leafs fans with 16000 other Pens fans is not a good mix. The 2 games the Leafs are in town are easily the most fight and ejection filled of the year. Much worse than even when we play the Flyers.

I don't think that he understands how North American currancy works.

The Ranger fans are still losing their poop about the hit. I can't lie, I kind of hope that Orpik isn't suspended so that they have massive aneurysm and the general IQ of hockeybuzz impoves by about 30 points.

Honestly, I've met a number of Leaf fans at Penguins games and the vast majority were nice people. In my experience its usually a dad and his son who can't afford tickets in Toronto so they come down to Pitt. to watch a game together.

However, Leaf fans who post on this site are simply excruciating. They are either so relentlessly gung-ho for their team that they refuse to accept the simple fact that their team loses because it simply isn't that good or they are on 24/7 suicide watch. Dealing with them is just exhausting.

My favorite post of last night was the one saying Orpik may be suspended for the entire postseason over it.

Wait. Did he kill Stepan. If he did I can understand the demand for blood.

Oh nope, it's a Charlie horse....

Geez. What homer threw that one out there?

I can see Orpik getting suspended for the final game v. the Flyers, but no game-time beyond that.

It certainly was a illegal knee-on-knee hit, but it was a blatant elbow to the head or wild charge & body launch w/ intent to injure.

Does Orpik even have any history of suspensions? I know he has the Cole hit way back in 2006, I can't think of anything specific since then.

Emperor, sheesh, back to the semi-safe water of "our own" blog. It was getting a little awkward watching the circle jerk they have going on over there. All I was looking for was an injury update...or a towel at least.

Remind me who was crying last night? Torts? Biron? I'm sure Callahan and Dubinsky whined because they always do.

Dirtiest? Nope ... I can name four teams without hesitation dirtier when everyone is healthy and playing.

Callahan has the same edge that most guys have and should be subject to the same scrutiny.

He and Letang went back and forth all night.

Only that one according to TSN's player transaction history. But from the Rangers reaction you would think he was in the Cooke-Pronger realm.

One suspension for a guy who is routinely over 200 hits. Not bad, must be a Pro-Penguins conspiracy.

Ultra competitive guys. Like I said if Crosby, Malkin, etc. are the dirty players in the league, then the game has come a long way since the wild west days of the 70s and 80s.

Yes, I seem to be really killing them with politeness and facts. They can't stand that combination and don't know how to respond...I really do want to leave them alone, but they keep addressing posts to me. It would be impolite not to respond, right?

The funniest thing I've read over there is how the Rupp hit was nothing but a mistake, but Orpik is the second coming of Charles Manson. Both guys stuck out their leg to contain a player, yet we lose Staal for 3 weeks and no grand conspiracy about the NHL and the Rangers over here. Don't remember Torts blubbering about lack of respect either.....
