Renaming the awards is the most dumbest thing you have ever posted here... and that says alot! The beauty of the game is it's long rich history and all you want to do is erase it? Changing the Calder cup to the Teemu Selanne cup?? What happens when somebody beats his record... gonna rename it again?... and again?? You are as mistaken about this as you are that you think this is a news worthy site to read. Shut this site down until the playoffs are over....

Less bs, more truth. I see the comment is gone now, but this site has gone down hill a lot. Anyone that is a solid writer leaves as soon as they can. 3 days of regular season hockey left and there is less comments than mid-summer.

Exactly...we need to maintain the history of the game and respect it's roots......renaming trophies is an insult to the NHL....those orig names were placed for a reason....regardless whether a more recent name is more relevant now.....what happens 50 years from now? rename them AGAIN????? Geez

They feel the need to monkey around with the rules every year (and still can't bring in competent refs to enforce them as they are written), so why not the trophies?

While trying to cater to the general public, the NHL is slowly alienating its core fan base.

So if you name it the Selanne award, do you change the name when someone else breaks the record?
