The NHL handed John Tortorella a $20,000 fine for his comments following Thursday's game against Pittsburgh Tortorella was unhappy about the Penguins' Brooks Orpik knee-on-knee hit against Derek Stepan. Among other things, Tortorella wondered "what would happen if we did it to their two whining stars." He was referring to Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. Tortorella also called the Penguins "one of the most arrogant organizations in the league."

Oh this young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him...

That would be nice...I'd still take Carle over him, but if Carle is asking for the moon he'd be a decent fill in, in my opinion... - Giroux_Is_God
Colaiacovo is injury prone. He'd have to take a pay cut and take care of his own insurance premiums, and even then I don't want him anywhere near the Flyers' blue line.

take a run at Justin Schultz if he doesn't sign an entry level deal with Anaheim by July 1st
The flyers won't find many on Carles level other than Suter or Wideman on the UFA market. Flyers will need their own to take on a little more. - stveshdy
Carle's going to be tough to keep. I think they hammer out a deal though. Pronger and Kubina won't be back next year.
Very happy to see Grossmann re-signed. Price is a little high, but the term is great. If he plays the next four years like he has since he came over, he'll be worth every penny.
Sure is a lot of group-think here about Carle. There are a lot of Carles in the league. Almost all of them will come cheaper than $5 million.
You don't pay 28 year olds based on potential. They are what they are. What Carle is, is not worth $5 million.

Who exactly are all these Carle's that are in the League, that will come cheaper? Name them. And they wouldn't be paying Carle on potential. They would be paying him based on production.
