I think that is the plan for MacIntyre too. Losing Giroux would hurt Philly more because we still have Malkin.
- lloyd095

I think he is there more for mutually assured destruction. There is no point to send him out there to go after giroux or jagr because a) he likely wouldn't catch them, the guy can't skate, and b) it's not worth the fine/suspension for him or Bylsma

Emotions are high, but that's no excuse to treat other posters disrespectfully. This is a warning to those we mods feel are crossing the line, if you choose not to listen to the warning be prepared to miss the first round possibly even longer.

This goes for both Pens and Flyers fans.

Bill, I usually enjoy your articles, except when they are Pen related I suppose. You are very good. I didn't see the knee to knee hit, so I'll take your word for it but for the record Vitale is not a goon or dirty. He plays the 4th line Center role hard. As for the hit on Briere was nothing but a clean solid open ice body check. Looking forward to the game and more importantly the series.
- Doogs

the hit was a good one, and legal. the only problems i had was that the penguins changed their line at the last minute, to send on the checkers. that was a Richard move. though Lavy could have got those guys off the ice. the flyers won the faceoff or at least had possession. works both ways.

Are Mods to be held to this same standard? There was one here earlier looking to get tagged with an instigator.

Thank you. I was having a hard time understanding why the onus was being put completely on Bylsma for employing his 4th line, when Lavy could have changed his just as easily. It may be a MAJOR stretch, but couldn't it be seen as an attempt to score again to rub in the loss?. Please see the word MAJOR in the previous sentence.

No, not at all. I was referring to earlier. When the debate was more heated. I said this before, I come to the Flyers GDP most Pens - Flyers tilts. Bill is s good read (usually) and the posters are mostly here for the right reasons. They give and take and it stays fun. Not that John T's aren't good but the debate is here.

He could not have changed his, the penguins had last change. And yes, it is a major stretch imo

Sam Carchidi picks the pens in 7, and the pens to be in the cup finals. Nice to know the beat writers have faith in this team in round 1

Not for the face off, but dump it out and get a change. Instead of skating it up.

I don't see that as a major stretch. I'm sure if lavi thought we could score again he was going to try. Maybe I'm the one stretching... but i wouldn't blame him for trying to score again. There is no better feeling than embarrassing a rival on their ice. Plus i think the flyers were trying to get into the pens heads before the playoffs start.

That being said... the hit was borderline but clean imo. Danny should have kept his head up. I understand lavis frustration but some of the blame should he on him for leaving his guys in a vulnerable position.
