Sour grapes.. Orpik is not dirty. He is in the top of hits every year and has had 2 incidents. Torts whined his way to a fine.

I saw Orpik target Stepan earlier in that game too. He also earlier in the season went way overboard trying to rough up Gaborik after the whistle, but surprisingly couldn't have skated to the bench faster when Mike Rupp came by for a chat.

I get along splendidly with my cousin's husband who is a Rangers fan. Rather talk hockey with Rangers fans than other sports with Philly fans. Just my opinion.

I may hate the Rangers, but I respect them and their organization. Never needed league welfare like some organizations and their fanbase has never disappeared despite a dearth of playoff appearances after 1994.

- Flyskippy

Yea I feel ya. Living in the Philly area I get annoyed quickly of everything Flyers. But I can't hate the organization. They do things the right way. Gotta respect how they deal with playing with so many injuries and rookies

I hear ya, just you can't wonder why Torts & Lavvy/Berube say what they say & then the league goes out & proves that point by making examples of "the other guys."
- B2B76

I'm surprised Bettman had the balls to actually do it, but at the same time it shouldn't be unexpected. Every other league makes it a point that coaches are forbidden to comment on the refs/leagues, and they get fined heavily for breaking that.

Orpik could've gotten a game or two for the hit, because it was a reckless play. I do not think it was intentional though.

Rupp was just going to talk about his devotional Bible reading from that morning, I'm sure.

Rinaldo receiving a 5 and a game for that play is absolutely comical.
That is a total legal hockey play, players have to be responsible for themselves on the ice. Turning into the boards to try and sell it shouldn't result in a penalty.

No league is as partial as the NHL. Screw it. Speak out and shame the idiots at the top.

Right on. Also, you have to take into account the situation that upsets the Rangers. Its a meaningless gm for them, down 4-1 with under 5 mins to go. And one of your better young forwards goes down for really no reason.

1. What a kill. Really sweet. The PKers absolutely put on a clinic, and half of them are 25 and younger

2. Rinaldo's hit- while from behind- was NOT worthy of a 5 and a game. I've seen a hit like that go uncalled more times than I've seen one called for boarding, etc let alone 5 and a game. Some things never change

3. Schenner havin a hell of a game so far. Keep it up kid! Gotta love how quiet it was in that building after the boys potted that one in the last few minutes. You could tell everyone and the players were thinking "Here they come..."

Here's to a full 60 minutes tonight! 20 down!!

The officials will overreact to every big hit & scrum unfornutly, but thats playoff hockey. The league has to stop "pu$$yfying" the game.

great kill. seems like the more ice time schenn gets or the bigger the minutes/game he seems to step it up more. hopefully he continues to trend in the direction and go to a new level

Jason Chimera did the same thing to McQuaid of Boston just a few weeks ago.

Did he get an MRI or an update? Hopefully he comes back soon. Always hate to see a guy go down in a meaningless game. Hate the Patriots, but seeing Welker shred his knee in a meaningless game was the worst.
