Don't feel bad there'll be at least two Flyers fans asking that in the next 72 hours or so

I think they're stalemated at the bargaining table, trouble coming to terms on that second 'n'. Grossmann may also be looking for bonus consonants in his contract, I don't think Holmgren's willing to give him that.

Every sports league tries to protect their "stars" in one shape or another, it is certainly in their best financial interest. I'm glad Crosby made it back from his concussions, I hate to see any player cut down by concussions. I do find it interesting with his concussion history, he still is willing to play at times a chippy game. With that being Sid, if Sid is going to intiate slashes and crosschecks against the Flyers, he certainly understands those tactics will be used against him. Absolutely Schenn was wrong and was penalized, Sid in similiar situations during the game, not so much.

Still in the end, I can't wait for this series to begin.

Today has all the makings to be clearly wasted energy and effort on both teams part. I'd much rather skip this contest and start the series this afternoon. It won't serve either team to play this meaningless game if it's merely payback time. It has the potential to cause more harm than good if just one player steps over the line.

Do I really need to see MacIntyre pair off with Jody Shelly? Watch another Flyer fall because of a boneheaded cheapshot? See Crosby get run at in retaliation causing his concussion symptoms to resurface?

If the Pens really need this win at any cost to prove to themselves that they can beat the Flyers on their own ice, then they have more problems than they realize. If the Flyers' approach is with redemption in mind, it could come back to bite them.

Just play hockey.

I guess I could comb through the twitter verse as it's becoming my favorite way to get the news but that would break up the late 60's rock on youtube session I have going to curb the negative emotions I have building up in me due to this afternoon's event. Geez talk about a run on sentence.

This pretty much kills any negotiations with Matt Carle (agent). The Flyers according to an article I read on CSN Philly dont expect to re-sign him. Homer is going to explore other options in the offseason.

Or, we could just have them sit at center ice and have a spelling bee. (Malkin gets to spell in cryllic)

Seriously, I agree that I'd just rather get this game out of the way without anyone from either side getting hurt and move on. Its going to be an epic series.

I know it's been said ad nausea um here but I'm ok with him leaving so long as they find a suitable replacement. Carle has his faults but what he brings is very underrated.

Their other defenseman will have to step up next season. The have a nice core of players who are capable of doing the job. Homer will add another defenseman that fits what the Flyers are trying to do. Maybe he will resign Kubina for the right price now.

Yeah, I'm not seeing orange and black on Carle next season at this point. I'm curious to see what Holmgren will do with the blueline this summer.

After today, I look forward to the predictions by the talking heads. I expect most of them will take Pitt in 6 games because of their experience and home ice advantage. Even if the Flyers win today, and finish the reg season 5-1 vs pitt.. I say the Pens are the favorites but not overwhelming.

If we had a full healthy squad (Pronger, JVR, MEsz et al) I'd say it'd be a coin flip to see who wins but as is, i say the advantage goes to Pitt. It's gonna be a heck of a series.

I'd agree the odds are in the Penguins favor. I think the Flyers are fully capable of winning this series, though, and I think the more personal it gets the more the odds tilt back in the Flyers favor.

I just hope if we get past them we can past the rags if we meet them. Something tells me Lavy knowing he had a handful of green rookies all season will change his approach to playing the rags in the playoffs. Maybe maybe not, just a hunch.

He'd also have a seven game series to adjust specifically to them, instead of six games spread throughout the year. Not assuredly a factor in the Flyers favor, but a consideration.

It's funny a pens fan actually gave me a boost of confidence should the flyers play the rags in the post-season (not like I needed it but Hey) by bringing up how the Flyers beat them all season long and they beat the Flyers in the Playoffs going onto a cup. Just some good food for thought.
