Fail.
The Oilers will take the best player, despite any other foolish ideas. Fact is, Grigorenko is projected to go higher than Murray or Dumba because he is a better player.
I never said they need to trade picks away. Im saying they will take the best player available as history has shown. - Gunslinger
Or they trade down, get an extra 2nd and/or 3rd round pick and pick Murray or Dumba. Sorry you had to fail that hard systemtool.
Actually this is what you said.
But no chance they waste a first or second overall pick to try and improve those issues through the draft. - Gunslinger
Yeah, total waste to improve their blueline by picking Dumba or Murray.

Yeah, total brilliance. Passing on a better player for one that is not as good. To fill a need that player may never fill. Awesome, systemtool.

Yeah, totally a lock to be the next Malkin.
As talented as Grigorenko is, he simply does not work hard AT ALL when he doesn’t have the puck, even at crucial moments in a game. One shift he had about four minutes left to go in a game his team was only losing by one goal perfectly illustrated the point. After attempting an individualistic play, Grigorenko lost the puck behind the net in the attacking zone, it squirted free to a defenseman about two feet to his right, and he just stood there watching as the defender skated the puck out of trouble without even a hint of trying to track him down or even put mild pressure on him. It would have been a real eye-opener for us – if we hadn’t been seeing the exact same thing from him for three years now.
Sure looks like Malkin.

The independent scouting report has Quebec Remparts winger Mikhail Grigorenko as its No. 1 prospect, knocking the highly-touted Sarnia Sting forward to second on its Top 30 list.
"(Grigorenko's) ability to amplify the skill sets of those around him is what sets him apart from the rest of the pack," explains ISS Director of Scouting Dennis MacInnis. "And while the incredible offensive talents of Yakupov are nothing to take lightly, Grigorenko has shown better as of late and this isn't the first time."
Grigorenko is the second-highest scorer among next year's draft-eligible prospects, with 16 goals and 34 points in 23 games in his first CHL season.
Yakupov, who leads the stats race with 13 goals and 38 points in 20 OHL games, is ranked first in TSN Scout Craig Button's November ranking and in TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie's pre-season ranking.
"There is a vast difference in the way the two play the game," added MacInnis. "Yakupov reminds ISS more of a Pavel Bure/Taylor Hall type player, while Grigorenko seems to be a Joe Thornton clone. Yakupov has done nothing to warrant falling out of the top spot, but after many viewings and much debate the time has come for Grigorenko to reap the rewards of his continual and dominant development."
Sure looks like a bust. " "

A) Outdated.
B) Craig Button is an idiot.
But sure, whatever you want to believe. The Oilers are just going to neglect their defensive needs with Murray and Dumba starring them in the face.
By the way, here was Button's new list since that's what you are going off of.

Grigorenko 7th. Dumba 2nd. Three defenders listed ahead of Grigorenko.

The oilers ignored both D and goaltending by taking RNH and will do the same this draft.
TSN has Grigorenko ranked 2nd, thanks.
If Button is an idiot, in your opinion, dont quote him. Idiot. |

Actually they didn't because they needed a center like RNH to play with Hall. So they had more than one need and picked one need over the other. |

No, you said Button knew best in his November rankings and he ranked Dumba and two other defenders ahead of Grigorenko in March. Your fault. No big deal.
- Unholy_Goalie
I didnt say he knew best, I just quoted it because it was the first that popped up in google. Either way you cut it, just about all rankings has Grigorenko 2nd and for good reason.
Your fault reality and facts are being denied. No big deal. You're wrong, but too ignorant and uneducated to know it. No big deal, we wont laugh at you any less.
Besides, idiot, the link i provided wasn't for Buttons list. It was quoting the Director of Scouting, not Button. Gosh, you make stupidity and failure look so easy. |

Click the link perfectly then. Fool.
That link doesnt lead to Buttons list, it leads to quotes from the director of scouting. You cant even click a link successfully, but at least you're still master of blaming everyone else for your failure and ignorance.
The ISS rankings, idiot. Not Buttons. But you probably still have no clue, do you..? But hey, if quoting people you believe are idiots to make your point is your thing, feel free failing. |

Yup, the ISS rankings always go exactly in order at the draft. Take a look at the 2011 March rankings. Exactly the same as the draft.

Aww. The truth hurts. You know, you can be wrong without making it so obvious that you're butt hurt.
Im sorry that Grigorenko being ranked higher than a Dman bothers you so much you cant help but show your emotional instability in public.
Love the link though. Especially the part where a team with Hall, MP, Gagner and Eberle upfront and nothing in the back end took a Dman and passed on RNH.
. Idiot. |

So what we learned today is that the Oilers will trade their pick to get help right now, that Grigorenko is guaranteed to be the next Malkin, Button has gospel rankings until he ranks Grigorenko lower than three defenders and teams always pick exactly the way ISS says they should draft.
- Unholy_Goalie
No. Thats just what an idiot took out of all this.
What we all know, and didnt need to actually learn, is that Grigorenko is the 2nd best player projected in this draft and the Oilers will most likely do as they have done before. Take the best player available.
What we did learn though, is that someone can call someone an idiot, and then use that idiots quotes and opinons to make their own point.
Button was also never quoted by anyone but you. Which leads to something else we learned. You can't navigate or properly execute the clicking of a link.

I think they'll take Murray, even with the 2nd pick.
But im not opposed to the idea of drafting another top center.

It's either they take Murray or Dumba with the 2nd overall pick, or ask around and figure out that they can trade down to 3rd or 4th and still get one of the two while adding additional picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
What better way to break out the attack with Murray outlet passes to Hall busting down the wing with RNH and Eberle to pass around with on the PP? |
