Maybe the print and iNet media don't but the TV execs love it because they get to run more ads. I can foresee a time when they decide to go with two full 20 min. OT sessions and then a SO though.

I don't know. I just recall that following the marathon Dallas/Vancouver series where they had back to back 6 period games the TSN and CBC talking heads were discussing if the NHL should attempt to shorten the playoff OT.

I personally love the marathon games.

Apparenlty Kovalchuk is guaranteeing that the Devils will win.. I guess he tempered it by saying if we play our game etc they can't be beat.. LOL.. Hey Kovy, for a preview of this year's playoffs, watch the first round matchup in 2010.

Certainly he has exceeded expectations offensively this year, but he sure defines the "glue guy" type player. I'm sure he was as good a locker room guy for the Pens as he has been for the Flyers.

I've enjoyed the talking heads predictions. Basically NO ONE anyone where is giving Philly a chance. Potvin that brain dead tool said the series will go 5 games max. Pittsburgh is the clear favorite, and most likely they will win in 6 or 7 but to say that it will basically be a non competitive series is silly.

When asked what his plan of attack was, he said he will play the perimeter half boards on the PP and hope for one timers, will float around at centre hoping for a breakaway pass and generally avoid the slot. He can't said it's been the key to his playoff success over the years and no one can stop him.

If you look at star players, Pittsburgh definately looks like the better team... But playoff series are not won just from star players... It takes a team, and I think the Flyers have the better defense, and deeper scoring... and Fluery is a good goalie, Bryzgalov can steal the Flyers games... It's a lot closer then people think.

i know i was watching that as well potvin is an idiot,although i agree with everyone else in canada i dont think we are winning this series due to the fact that we are banged uo,A healthy flyers team could beat the pens.i hope it goes 6-7gms

I don't see it that way at all. Between the season series and the Flyers play in Pittsburgh I don't know how these "experts" come to the conclusion they do. I honestly see this series as a toss up and gthink it's unfortunate one of these teams will be out early.
