beyond seeming like he gets away with things what bugs me the most about crosby is how he handles these situations. yes star players get targeted more and yes they need to stick up for themselves a bit, however when you take shots at players behind the play you should expect you'll get that back sometimes too in the form of little shots after whistles. so dont act like you got shot and look at the refs with a dumb look wondering how couold someone possibly touch you.
the act is then followed up by not dropping the subject (no matter how small of an event it should be) and acting like a victim in the media. most players when asked about a shot like schenn gave you say its part of the game, we were just going at it, it happens, etc... crosby though calls it a cheap shot and acts cluesless as to why it happened, like he didnt do anything and that the other players are all at fault. its like how my sister got me in trouble many of times growing up, this is what grinds me gears. - dillpx183
Actually, unless you can prove me wrong with a postgame quote here, Crosby had very little to say about that hit after the game. Bylsma called it cheap (if you are going to call us whiners, at least get your whiners straight) Crosby had very little to say about any of this until after Berube and Milbury kept stoking the coals in the media. |

I'm actually suprised ESPN actually acknowledged the NHL playoffs were about to begin. Not really a suprise no one is picking the Flyers, all that matters right now is Grossmann and Briere to resume skating today or tomorrow.

and we lost the draft too - Manitobakid
At least we didn't deliberately tank it like the Pens did to get the #1 pick. Probably why they initiated the lottery system. |

they have EIGHT NHL "experts"??? who knew...
so 1 person picks the senators to upset the rangers but not one person picks the flyers to beat the pens. doesnt matter who ends up winning, that just points to bad analysis and predictions. regardless (frank) bspn |

Uh oh, the camp fire needs some wood and we're all out of logs, guess you'll have to do.
Seriously, what's up with Niskanen and Lovejoy are they out for the 1st game?

Bill,
Any comment on the Rinaldo 5 min major plus a game misconduct call?
Was it just part of the backlash from the way the previous game ended, with the refs attempting to set the tone?
A two minute boarding call would have been acceptable there.
Do you think Zac will get a suspension too?
If this is the kind of calls we can expect to see in the series against the Pens, I'm less then optimistic about the Flyer's chances to prevail.
Thanks for the great blogs, it turned into a very enjoyable season, the Flyers in many ways exceeded my expectations going into this year. - Marc D
I agree Marc. It was a minor boarding penalty at the most.
