If I'm not mistaken, Kiprusoff has a NTC. Sadly, I really, really do not see him waiving it to come to....TML. - triggermartin
It expires this summer. Or at least that's what RSN/TSN has said before. |

Are you surprised? Look at the love he had for Robbie Earl. |

Well then I guess BB will just have to put in an offer sheet for Price
But Yeah it seems like Kipper has been pretty insistent on liking life in CGY even if the team does suck - AngryWhiteMale
love the idea of an offer sheet for price.
could be a lot of first rounders if it were to go through though. love it more so in regards to screwing a division rival on the cap.
we don't have to worry about that with egomaniac at the helm.
wonder what chiarelli would sell of rask for? |

i'm not on board with the idea of trading a big package for kiprusoff either. no need for a goalie who will be pushing 37 by the time this franchise is competitive. - joel878
Yeah his age is what scares me too.
I really don't like the idea of going after someone over the age of 30, even if he has a decent injury history and a high number of games played,
it's just not worth it.
What we need is the second coming of Curtis Joseph. A guy who will single handedly cover up 90% of the team's flaws and allow them to win rounds in the playoffs they had no business winning, while at the same time only being a UFA signing and thus costing us nothing |

Never happened. I can see your horrible memory is back at work. I said he was a good player to pick in the 2nd/3rd round. Never said he was a superstar. Work on your horrible memory. It's killing you. - Unholy_Goalie
No, seems like your lying is killing you. And your inability to read. You think you were randomly saying "Hey everyone, Catenacci is a good player to draft in the second or third round". No. You were talking him up like he was a God. Saying the Leafs should grab him early second round if they can, and that he would be a STEAL. There's no difference in being the leading scorer to the 81st leading scorer, right? |

I don't think BB will be going down that road.
As for Price, as of now he's the guy I have pegged starting for CAN in 2014, as his poise in a city like MTL is impressive.
He's handled himself well, and is still very young.
He alone would ensure the playoffs as it's not like MTL on paper this year was any different from last year |

The other name I heard floated today was....Tim Thomas. Yep. Another chance for us to continue the building of .......... the Boston Bruins. After Chiarelli, Burke is the best GM they've had since Sinden. |

the UFA part is key. as long as it's not long term.
it's senseless to give up assets for an aging tender based on the state of the team now. tampa would be a better fit for kipper.
the leafs either need to ride the FA market as a stop gap, or find a way to trade for a schneider, rask, lindback type.. without overpaying. |

Ok so now that EDM has the top pick, it's safe to say that they will almost be forced to take it.
Which is different from what could have hypothetically happened had they snagged second, which would have made snagging a Dman much more rational. However, no Dman is close to being considered the top pick, so it will be interesting to see what they do.
I'd like to think that they could perhaps use the first in a trade, but there aren't many established Dmen out there who are available and worth a first.
So here is what I would consider to be the most likely top 5:
EDM - Yakupov
CBJ - Grigorenko/Galyenchuk
MTL - Galyenchuk/ Grigorenko
NYI - Murray/Dumba
Tor - Forsberg/Galyenchuk(It's whichever of those two are available)
I have a feeling Grigs goes before Galy, and that Galy will probably go before Forsberg.
Craig Button's take on the top 14 was reflective of what a moron he is.
He has CBJ drafting Murray 2nd overall, which doesn't make sense considering they got Jack Johnson at the deadline, and will need help putting the puck in the net.
He also has NYI going after Forsberg at centre when they themselves need a defenceman, and probably aren't in urgent need of another centre after getting Ryan Strome last year - AngryWhiteMale
The general consensus is that Columbus is gun shy for another Russian draft pick which may have them select a North American defenseman. That would be the only luck for Toronto now.

Pogge. WTF? Remember when he was standing at centre ice after the Canadians won the gold and they were handing out the top goalie of the trournament? He was so sure he was gonna get it, had his hat turned to the side....then he had the look of death on his face when Rask got it? Good times...great move by JFJ to trade Rask. Even though we hear how JFJ wasn't as bad as Burke from Habs fans. |

That was a classic episode of foreshadowing.
Shakespeare himself could not have composed such poetic justice.
I remember Pierre Mcguire telling leaf fans during one of the team Canada games to get excited about Justin Pogge. |
