Hmmm.

No. He sucks.

- hscesq

Considering he has ZERO AHL grooming AND his natural abilities were hampered by a run and gun system, AND he hits like a mack truck AND he's early 20's, he DOESN'T suck....anything else?

I don't think there will be anybody that special out of this draft class, if anything, most are injury prone, haha.

hahahaha

actually.. in fairness.. i am hoping carlyle can bring schenn's game back.. his structure and style are far more suitable for schenn's skillset.. could be the best thing to happen to schenn in his career

now.. if schenn's game does rebound that would be great.. however it will also be a bit of a telling sign as to his versatility. We now know that Schenn isnt particularly suited for an up tempo forecheck system, so its looking like we are finding out what his limitations are.... which unforunately lowers his market value.

but i will take what i can get.. if carlyle can turn him into a stable reliable stay at home d-man i will be happy

- Dozzer

hmm, big hard hitting stay at home dman with suspect mobility isn't suited for a run and gun up tempo system?

In other news, the sky is blue, and my farts stink

All the mock drafts at least have the top 5 as consistent which is usually a good thing. After that it seems like the rest could go anywhere.

The undeniable fact is that while this team still sucks. We have Gardiner for nothing. We got Lupul in that deal and that was for a grand sum of nothing.

I think Dion was a positive from the simple fact that he got his scoring touch back. He was never expected to be a defensive beast, and based on how Keith Aulie had played at the end of the previous season, I was really counting on those two becoming a pair that would compliment eachother.

The undeniable fact is that while we like to harp on BB for bad moves, which are obvious to point out, the fact is that this is the closest thing to a real rebuild through youth that this team has had in a long time. He gave up on Versteeg and turned him into a first, he turned Kaberle into a guy who was drafted in the first round, along with an actual late first round pick.

What he obviously needs is a goalie and a no. 1 centre, but the sad fact is that these things don't grow on trees, and we can't hold him accountable for the fact that JFJ dumped Tuuka Rask.

Come to think of it, if we had kept Tuuka, would JFJ still be the Leafs GM?

- AngryWhiteMale

Kaberle actually got us a former 1st round pick/prospect, A late first round pick and a second round pick that led us to getting Liles. Chirelli overpaid to even up a bit for the great pick he got in Seguin.

Actually Burke has made good trades. And some say bad signings. I would have to put the blame on the players he signed thoughn and not solely on him. When he signed those guys most of us were happy that he did. Some mentioned the overpayment, but he had to do that to get them here. Nobody could have seen them failing this miserably.

Armstrong has had injury problems and gets a half pass but has been a healthy scratch,

Komisarek took a season to get back from injury properly and played well at the start of this season, but fell back with brain cramps as the season wore on.

Connolly???? Has to be the biggest disappointment, and if I was Burke I'd hire someone to break his legs in the off season. No where could player show more disrespect for his GM and his contract than Connolly's situation. I don't care if he was slighted by losing to Bozak on the first linethru popularity. You can put up numbers and effort no matter which line you are on.

Lombardi was not a free agent signing, but a thow in for Franson. His quick skating with virtually no result reminded us all of what was wrong with the Leafs. Not since Jason Blake have we had such a great skater flying up and down the outside with little care of getting to the scoring areas or grinding out a cycle game. I have no idea how this guy was able to sign his contract in the first place, but is firm proof that everyone overpays, and not just Burke.

As much as we all blame Burke and Wilson. The blame is a team weight not just one person or scapegoat. I would like to remind everyone to start with these PLAYERS not the GM who put his confidence in them.

Hope I'm wrong especially for the Leafs but I really don't see a superstar out of this class, not even an elite player, again I hope I'm wrong.
