Zac can be more impactful if he plays with his head on straight. Wellwoods speed is nice to have though and he seems to have a good knack for staying with the play even after you think it's broken. - funmaster18
Yeah they both have their pluses.
My preference for Wellwood is all about the speed and his ability to kill penalties.
In no way would I be disappointed if Zac got the nod over Wellwood.

Rinaldo is going to be hard to give shifts to because everything he does is watched closely. During the playoffs its hard to have him out there if the refs are going to call him for penalties. |

I think Wellwood stays. I he can play the PK, and is good in defensive situations, and has a lot more offensive nack. I like Rinaldo, but I think there is just as much of a chance he hurts the team with penalities as helps the team with hits... Plus we have guys that can throw the body and do the same thing as Zac, like Simmonds, Hartnell, Talbot, and Schenn. Wellwood should stay IMO. |

Yep. Terrible really.
A guy like him can be so valuable in a 7 game series. He can work his way under the other team's skin and by game 3 or 4 really start to disrupt what it is they are trying to do.

is Holmstrom a guy that can do similar things but doesn't have the reputation that Zac does? |

Only 3M? Is that becasue of all the raises coming through? Yikes - On the list the only one I'd be okay losing is Kubina |

You just wonder if Rinaldo can keep himself composed. He has a target on his back and it worries me whenever he gets a shift. |

Are you counting the cap hit of Pronger? And reducing the cap hits of the guys that are affected because there's no bonus cushion this year, like Schenn, Couturier and Bobrovsky? |

Well capgeek is counting Pronger's $5mm against that, so there's $8mm in space, assuming he stays on LTIR. And capgeek isn;t factoring in a bonus cushion, which means that Schenn's hit could drop by $2mm, and Bob and Couturier's could drop by as much as a combined $1.5-$2mm.
Depending on the bonus cushion, they could have as much as $12mm in cap space, counting LTIR |

Does this include Prongers LTIR? If not, then they have close to 8 million. And If Pronger does come back, then I'm ok with Carle and Kubina going, and using the 3 million to sign Voracek, Jagr, and MAB.
Jagr for about 2 million
Voracek about 3 million
MAB about 750k
Casue you know the Cap is going to go up... |

Holmstrom has a bit of spice to his game, but he's not as irritating as Zac can be to opposing teams. Holmstrom is a versatile guy, too. Can play on PK, take draws and has OK speed. |

Nobody will know until the cap number is released. Currently, teams can go over by about $6.4mm. If the cap goes up, that will be higher.
If the rumors of a $68mm cap are true, that means teams will have a $6.8mm cap cushion for the summer. |

Thats not a bad number. One would assume the cap would go up but I wont commit to that. |
