Voracek RFA - 3.5M
Carle UFA - 3.5M or walk
Kubina UFA - 1.5M or walk
Jagr UFA - 2.5M
Bourdon RFA 1M
Done - Manitobakid
I have no interest in bringing back Kubina. Rather pay Carle $5mm or use that $5mm to replace Carle.
They could also make other moves that free up cap space. I'm a lot more concerned with the playoffs, though |

That cant be used during the summer though. That part stinks. - stveshdy
It can be used so long as team doesn't go more than 10 percent over cap.
Also need to figure a FA's current salary as part of the space toward resigning him (example, if Carle were re-signed at $5.5M, it'd be $2.2 M of additional space needed).

Thats not a bad number. One would assume the cap would go up but I wont commit to that. - stveshdy
Any guessing about the cap and the future CBA is just that-a guess. |

Weber is probably not realistic. If Carle does price himself out of town, I'd go hard after a good young guy that can move the puck, skate well and can develop. If it comes down to paying Ryan Suter $7mm or Matt Carle $5.5mm, I'd lean to keeping Carle. |

Man, nothing better than sleeping in on a friday. Here's hoping the flyers get off to a better start tonight. Come out with a good strong forecheck and solid defensive play and let's put the pens on their heels! And even if we don't get out to a stong start lets not let the negativity creep in here... we've all seen what these kids can do and they're never out of a game. Let's go flyers!!!!! |

Well capgeek is counting Pronger's $5mm against that, so there's $8mm in space, assuming he stays on LTIR. And capgeek isn;t factoring in a bonus cushion, which means that Schenn's hit could drop by $2mm, and Bob and Couturier's could drop by as much as a combined $1.5-$2mm.
Depending on the bonus cushion, they could have as much as $12mm in cap space, counting LTIR - Jsaquella
Yea, forgot about the cushions, and the fact the cap will likely rise again.. maybe 2 millionish... So thats more like 14 million in space to fill 2 defenseman and 2 forwards.... easily done
But again, if Pronger is healthy I just let Carle go. |

I'm alittle confused there. I get the basic jist of that but if Carles cap number comes off and they sign him at 5.5M that entire cap hit comes back on. Arent the Flyers already taking his money off the books once he hits free agency?
I get that he would be getting a raise at 2.2M
NEVERMIND. GOT IT |

I wouldn't bet a paperclip on Pronger's health, and simply having Pronger doesn't replace Carle's ability to move the puck.
If Pronger was able to return, I'd be more likely to move Meszaros and try to keep Carle. |

Idk if the cap will go up. It all depends on how the CBA negotiations go. I hope it does, because i realllllllly don't want to lose anyone if we dont have to. |

The numbers I gave is already based on the cap being raised from $62,897,500 to $64,300,000 |

Yep. Terrible really.
A guy like him can be so valuable in a 7 game series. He can work his way under the other team's skin and by game 3 or 4 really start to disrupt what it is they are trying to do. - ggunky
Rinaldo is the best open ice hitter on the team. He can have the other team "hearing footsteps" and cause them to rush the play and cause a turn over.
If he can stay out of the box his game can be very effective for the Flyers.
I hate that the refs are calling his penalties so tightly, based partly on his reputation.
I think he helps the Flyers, but only if he can play his game. |

So... is this one of those playoff games where the Flyers will have to withstand the first 10 minutes and then counterattack or will they try to get on the board first and take the crowd out of the game? |

I wouldnt be opossed to giving Kubina a 1 year contract for 1 million. Well worth the gamble IMO. |

Flyers dont like to play with a lead and Pittsburgh is almost in a must-win situation. I expect the Pens to come out blazing. |
