If they want to take it out of the game the league should be able to fine players after the fact. It is a mockery. Keslers somersault the other night was disgusting. There are certain teams that abuse this tactic way too much - Just5
If a team finds that the opponent is gaining an advantage by it. They should in turn do the same to try and equalize it. I think overall in most cases. It's a lot of hype, and overblown.

I am thinking that the pens could get very undisciplined if things don't go their way early.
If I am Lavy I am telling Rinaldo that if he takes any dumb penalties he will be cleaning the teams bathroom with his toothbrush. |

My lone issue with the Campbell apology is, quite simply, that there's blown calls in every game. Is good ol Collie going to come out after every game with a list, or will it just be apologies to the Penguins?
You can't challenge them, as Laviolette did. You can't criticize them, as Tortorella did and now, when there's a bad call, the league apologizes to them. I don;t buy that there's a conspiracy, but the NHL sure does nothing to dispel that junk. - Jsaquella
Never been a fan of Campbell and I couldn't agree more with what you said.
Now as far as the game goes, the Flyers need to expect for of the same from the Pens in how they are going to come at them to start. They'll probably have even more desperation since they don't want to go down 0-2.
This would be a great time for the Flyers to turn that against them and get an early one.
Not even 10AM and I'm nervous. Ah, playoff hockey! |

Those of us that remember the pre-2005 NHL do. And we remember that he had the NHL's ear and affection as much then as now. Heck, Gretzky didn't/doesn't seem to have the NHL around his finger like Mario. - Flyskippy
If indeed true they would have implemented his tiered fine system, the one, which at the time, the Penguins would have been on the hook for the max fine of 1 million dollars. |

I get that, but Weber getting fined the amount of money he makes for a 35 second shift is ridiculous, superstar or not. |

I'd rather get punched in my well protected groin than have a 6'4" 225 lb beast ram my head into the glass with enough force to break my helmet |

It would be a lot higher except the CBA has a max fine on players of 2500. That will most definitely change this summer. |

I truthfully expect the Flyers to win tonight. 4-2. Both the Penguins and the Flyers know that the Prns threw their best punch already in the first period. That is the best they can play. Flyers stayed on their feet and took over the game. This is over in 6. - Flyers1218
It was just one game -- it's going to be a battle -- pens will come out desperate tonight and the flyers need to withstand that. they can't go down 3-0 again. |

If it's 3-3 late in the 3rd period, and a Flyer accentuates to draw a call. And the Flyers get a PP, and win the game 4-3. Who is going to be upset with the Flyer who does the accentuating? - MJL

I've been hit with a puck while wearing hockey gear...the area is quite well protected. It's not as if the guy was wearing a pair of cargo shorts and boxers.
You realize that the guy was wearing padded hockey pants, a padded girdle and a carbon flex cup that is designed to withstand a 100 mph slap shot. |

Superstar treatment. Shanahan dropped the ball on that call. He didnt have the stones to suspend Weber. |

How come Zetterberg didn't get the star treatment? What happens if Weber headslams Crosby? Why didn't Shanahan help out his old Detroit buddies?
