I saw that. Did you see the look on his face......he didn't believe it either. Time for the 1-2-2. Just like the washington series in '92. - madmike71
It isworth a chance.Maybe the Flyers are too much for us. Then I remember the Rangers beat them 6 times. Worth a shot if you ask me. If it doesn't work hey at least you learned something from the experience. Isn't that the story of life? Emphasize the wins and learn from you're mistakes. |

No it's not. - canadianpenfan
The Flyers have been optimistic to say the least, and definitely have done what they needed to do to win. That being said, the Pens have served a lot of the opportunities up on a silver platter. They've pissed these games away to a large extent. |

series is far from over. you guys win game 3 and the momentum starts to swing. - FlyerGuy
Oh, don't get me wrong. I haven't quit anything. All I said is it stings. Home Ice is no advantage for us vs. You. |

there is talent required for the flyers to come back, and to say they dont deserve it more would be lie. but the bottom line is this team rolled around in its own puke yet again - stayinthefnnet
the Pens seem to want to open things up when they're up 2 or 3 goals, which is mind boggling in the playoffs. It was about the only way the Flyers would be able to come back.
If they had just played a bit of a trap the last 2 games, after getting those leads, you'd guys probably be up 2 games to zip. |

Well at least we open up well, but these sting because it is not like the Flyers played well. It was simply the Pens playing poorly imo. There is a large skill difference between these teams IMO and the fact that we keep giving away goals whenever we get a PP is simply unacceptable. |

Another disgraceful game. Zero excuse for 7 goals against (not counting ENG). Blown leads, 2 shorthanded goals, another PPG against, terrible turnovers, mental mistakes. The team that played such a good all-around game all season disappeared a few weeks ago. |

2-0 does not a series win make. The flyers would be foolish to think they can keep playing with fire and getting behind.
The Pens are not as bad as it looks tonight. Looking forward to Sunday. |

Yes, it is. When a team blows a 3-0 lead after the first - its a choke. When a team dominates the first and has outscored the opponent 6-1 combined in the two games and trails the series 2-0, its a choke. - Oneonta Penguin
I'm not saying they aren't choking, obviously they are. Just saying the Flyers are taking it to them after they get comfortable and they have no answer. That's what's forcing them to choke. Maybe comfortable is the wrong word, I don't see how they could let themselves get comfortable again. No way the coach could allow that.

5 losses in a row at home in the playoffs dating to last year.
Mike Lange: if theres one positive from tonight's game, the Penguins did kill a penalty tonight. |

I don't believe it's a better team. I think it's a better coached team. Mike Therrien wouldn't allow this D to pinch without a care. He would demand they clear up the boards instead of up the middle. He's also demand that they keep the 3rd forward high. Bylsma system has been exposed.

It's kind of a familiar feel though actually. It's been a while since we had a decent run in the playoffs. |

Its almost like they got Crosby back and the team collectively said "screw defense, we were winning without him now we will just outscore everybody" |

Maybe we should try healthy scratching Crosby and Letang. That's when we knew how to play defense. |

They have only one mantra: play in the other team's end. All well and good. The problem is is that When you're leading it's ok to play in the neutral zone too and muck it up. They simply don't do it. It's not in their DNA.
It is, frankly, the same approach basically that yielded spectacularly entertaining seasons in Washington but spectacular disappointment in the post season. Lots of offense. Little defense. Early tee times.

Yes, really. When you guys have no Pronger and no Meszaros there should be a goodly difference in talent. Bylsma has been outcoached thus far. Getting multiple goal leads in the play-offs, he should be able to implement something to shut the other team down. These same leads have been getting blown for a while now... |

The really amazing part is that we all thought the key would be the Flyers getting under the Pens skin between whistles. We have shot ourselves in the foot so consistently they havent even needed to really engage us. There have been some big hits, but really no fireworks--very surprising. |

They played well, no arguement. We are just saying if someone tees it up for you you don't have to try as hard actually. The last goal was handed to you and that pisses us off because we thought hey, maybe our defense will play, I don't knoe, defense? Wierd I know but we Pens fans are a crazy bunch. |
