Honestly I think that coaching staff should just show the team the first period and say "do this" and then show them the following 42 minutes and say "don't do this".
They played a near perfect first period, the puck was always deep, the forecheck was physical and they forced and capatalized on Flyer mistakes. Following the intermission they completely got away from anything that they had done well in the first period. - Ben37
Even in the first there were multiple defensive lapses and unnecessary pinches/offensive chances taken by the D. The just did it with better speed and weren't standing around watching.
They need to be patient, esp on the PP and actually take the opportunity to get something set up on the zone. If their PP sucks again tonight....
i know his minutes suddenly just like stopped last game. and DB isnt the type to have someone ride the pine for not shooting that, so it makes sense. - stayinthefnnet
no one on the 4th line made much of an appearance after they gave up the 1st goal.

i thought i saw his minutes were less than adams or vitale. maybe the difference was based on penalty killing? but they were only shorthanded once. either way, asham has an underrated shot and would liked to see him bury it. hell maybe the fourth line would have made some simple enough plays and forechecked to at least keep it out of their own zone

I didn't notice that on Wednesday, but just looked at the ice time, and Asham didn't have a shift in the 3rd, while Vitale had 2 and Adams had 4 shifts.
So maybe Tangradi solves all of our problems on the powerplay, lol...
But I guess it would be between Tangradi & Park, who do you put in?
many players need to step up. the malkin neal kunitz line was practically invisible. staal had a few good opportunities and a nice pass on the break, but his puck possession and defensive dominance were absent. even crosby had a couple of plays where the simple effective play seemed to be lacking. it was very disheartening to lose that way, but there is much room for improvement. each player should be pistol whipped for every blind backhand pass through the neutral zone - stayinthefnnet
the 19 year old shut em down... wonder how long that can last

LGP! Hope the Pens as a team where as embarrassed as I was as a fan to watch the end of that game. I could care less about the offsides call poop happens. You have to come out and man handle them tonight and dominate to deliver a message. Seems like HCDB got out coached in game. Flyers changed their approach and we didn't adjust. Seems as if they were trying to generate offense off the rush in the 1st then after that they commited to dumping the puck and banging our defenseman around. Seems like what we should have been doing with a 3 goal lead. And my tirade is over carry on
