This game showed pretty clear cut hoe much of a puss Crosby is... Crosby goes after Timonen of all people and G comes in to protect him and G and Crosby square off for .75 seconds and the refs jump in and grab Giroux... What a joke that was. G would have destroed Crosby and the league would not let it happen. What a joke. |

Neal's hit was definitely suspension worthy, MJL. |

Game three is over now onto to Game 4.
I doubt the league will do anything with Neal or Adams. The only person I see getting some Shanny action is Asham.
I would like to see the defense tighten up a little bit more. Plus, with Kimmo hitting the showers early, that could be a blessing in disguise. - phi1671
i could live with adams not being suspended. but neal can't play in game 4. he cost himself that right. just absolutely dirty. |

Agreed, I'm not even asking for Asham to get a suspension, but Neal was going out of his way to injure. |

"According to the NHL Rulebook (Rule 21.2), in addition to the match penalty, Asham is automatically suspended until the commissioner rules on the issue. While the rulebook refers to the commissioner, the decision on any further discipline for Asham will be handled by the Department of Player Safety." |

I try to tell pen fans and flyer fans the Flyers knew what they were doing by letting asham go. He's good for what he does, but look at today. You wanna win hockey games or wrestle mania? - JoeRussomanno
true, I knew Asham was gonna do this at some point |

My favorite sign in the crowd today. During skate-around someone on Pens' bench side held up a sign that said, "Take your Hart Trophy, Malkin. G will take Conn Smythe." - bmeltzer
Malkin already has a Conn Smythe... so that sign wasnt well thought out.
Calling him ugly would have been better. |

Couturier had to leave the game but thank god he wasnt injured. Its a defenseless player in the open ice and was drilled while the opposing player left his skates. What else does the NHL need? - stveshdy
According to Neal, the hit was an accident and he even tried to let up |

I think the Crosby pushing the glove incident is getting blown out of proportion a little, I think everyone can admit that it was pretty hilarious - FinAddict
I agree with that. He is just trying to get the other team to overreact, lose their cool, get a penalty or something. I find Asham at least acting at a time when his team is down and after a big hit. Its pretty bad, but its a crime of passion.
But Neal was ...well, I have expressed my opinion on this already. |

What else could have happened to giroux and coots besides a minor concussion? I guess their gonna be ok. But they both might wake up with a virus tommorow. |

If he said that hes an idiot. He could of avoided that hit. So let me guess he tried to leave his skates to miss Couturier? Neal has zero stones if he believes that. |

I am thinking of the next playoff series if they advance. Can every team go headhunting if we go up on them and know we are not going to do anything till we meet then in the fall? - PT21
Again, you defend and stand up for yourself. But not seeking revenge doesn't make you a pushover or a target for cheap shots.

Neal's hit was:
A) A blind side hit
B) Contact is made to the head
C) Charging, due to Neal leaving his feet
Not to mention that he went head hunting after G a minute later!
How does this guy NOT get suspended??? |

If I read the rule correctly. Adams will be automatically suspended one game for an instigator in the last 5 minutes.

Apparently. The Pens were totally out of character today and a lot of that has to do with their crybaby captain who was more concerned with being a J.O. today then playing hockey. |

No doubt MJL but remember Malkin in the cup finals. So you never know. |
