Schnieder would bring back more, they really should trade him. And with Lack (and then Cannata...vcr is set on goalies for a long time) ready to step up, its a perfect situation to get him to get some games in during the season.

Schnieder is good, but can he handle 60+ games? No one knows yet.

The Kings have never been up 3-0 in a series. Last time they won first two games on the road was 1968 (Minnesota) and 1976 (Atlanta).

If they lose... This is on AV. The guy just happens to coach a very talented team and yet finds a way to mismanage his assets. I have long said this.

Now there's a load of BS! Leafs are often judged for simpy being Leafs fans, ESPECIALLY by Canucks, Habs, Sens, Flyers, Sabres and Bruins fans!

Don't get me wrong Schneider is a great goalie with a bright future and would fetch the Canucks a nice piece or two, but what you're expecting is WAAAY too much.

There has been a lot of comparison between what the Caps got for Varlamov (1st 2012 = 11thoverall + 2nd 2013) vs. what the Canucks could expect from trading Schneider. Is Schneider a better goalie than Varlamov? I definitely think so, BUT Schneider's value is decreased considering that he is offically a back-up, whereas Varlamov was considered a "#1" at the time. Although I think Schneider's experience on a team like Vancouver and certainyl his playoff experience also help his value.

I totally think Schneider can land the Canucks a 1st rounder, but there is a HUGE difference between trading a 1st that is the 11th overall vs. a 1st pick that is 2nd overall FROM A REBUILDING TEAM! Look at it this way using the Leafs 5th overall. If the Leafs wanted to move up in the draft to the 1st or 2nd overall, the Leafs would have to include significant assets ON TOP of dealing their 5th overall just to move up 3 or 4 spots!

For you to think that Schneider will land the Canucks the 2nd overall + Ryan Johansen + Jon Moore is COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS! I know the Jackets need a goalie, but why the hell would they do this ESPECIALLY when they're thinking dealing Nash in the offseason and officially going back into early rebuild mode?
Besides, Vancouver is in "win now" mode, how would a 1st rounder (who may or may not play) and a couple young players early in their NHL development help NOW?

That said, I think that the Canucks would have a better shot at Rick Nash in a deal that included Schneider++. As to what those "+'s" are, I imagine that the Canucks 1st, 30th overall + a decent prospect would start the concersation.
A deal surrounding these players are what benefits both teams the most given their respective positions.

Could you imagine Nash in a Canucks jersey with the core of players that Vancouver has now? VERY SCARY!!!

Honestly, I don't think this is about an X's and O's or skill level thing. This team just needs to play with playoff intensity tonight and do whatever it takes to get the W. And for the love of God, I hope Booth and Kesler are on separate lines. I've loved our third line with Higgins, but if the second line doesn't get going, we're finished.

The only blogs I usually read are Ian's, JJ's, Yosts', And Barry/Cloutier when I need a good laugh.

Canucks have the best road record in the west, with 24 wins, 2 more than the Kings won at home. They know how to tighten up the defensive side of the game. I expect the Kings to get a couple early power plays, if we can kill them then I think Vancouver plays a patient game and waits for their chances, Higgins or Hansen with the winner. If the Kings score early, I think we see a track meet with one of those 5-4 games and the Kings with the victory. Wishy washy? Maybe, but I don't think we outscore them if a free wheeling game.
