Shanahan has been on the job for one year and has already lost all his credibility. The NHL needs to step up and fire him. Then they need to establish clear guidelines on how what would be the result of certain actions i.e. a hit to the head merits x games, a hit to the head where the player is driven into the boards gets x games, etc. They need to take as much guesswork out of the position as possible. It also is incredibly stupid to penalize a player more if their actions injure the other player. The league needs to punish the act NOT the end result and its about time the realize that.

they need a 3 member panel to address these issues and create this panel from people who have not played the game at this level so the rules when clearly outlined can be forced consistently

IMO the refs need to either call everything and anything to insure the players never feel the need to retaliate, or allow the players to do all their own reffing.

Right no there's this weird mixture of both, so you end up with a lot of inconsistency.

Tru enough. Although I wouldn't be shocked if they did... Quick is the type of goaltender that can carry with minimal support and the kings seem to finally be giving him the bare minimum of needed support.

Same, although I see them burning out, but why I can't really tell. I feel like you can draw similarities between them, Nashville, and st Louis, but the latter two are just superior in every way.

Phoenix has a lot of heart tho, and I think that's pretty awesome. It's cool how pumped up they got from one playoff win

thats been said about every nhl disciplinarian. its never going to change, nobody is ever going to be happy. I am pleased with the progress that has made, and his explanation videos are great for fans who question some of his decisions.
