Not worried about Asham, he wasn't changing the series. Now Neal, that's a different story. - Deasr1
Asham could have seriously impacted it by sidelining the likes of Coots, or Timonen, etc. with another brainless, dangerous hit. Glad he's gone.
Now if only both teams would use the extra day off to compose themselves and focus on playing hockey, I'd be a much happier person. I do not wish to see anybody else senselessly injured. And that goes for both teams.
NEW YORK -- Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw has been suspended for three games for charging Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith during Game 2 of the teams' Western Conference Quarterfinal playoff series Saturday night in Phoenix, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

Love this quotation: "If everyone were like me, the team would get roughed up and beaten by others all the time; on the other hand, if all of us were short-fused, we would spend most of our game time inside the penalty box rather than on the ice. So this is what the team is about."
The penguins made the officials look like fools in game 3. There is no way the next set of Refs didn't see this. They will come out prepaired to stop all that BS from the start. - RooNosHockey
if the last 20 years of watching flyers hockey, it's taught me to expect no help from the league or its officials. trust me if the game wasn't nationally televised and didn't get enormous ratings neal would be suspended and the asham suspension would be less than what it will be. heck they might have even tried to waive adams' automatic suspension

Berube on WIP:
These two teams bring out the best and worst in each other. The Pens have put out a lot of effort. It will be a tough task tomorrow.
Time outs: When he feels like the next score is key, he'll call it. If he feels they need a breather he'll call it. Or if he sees something he doesn't like he'll call it.
On the 5 on 3 it was important because G usually runs the 5 on 3 and was in the box.
What does he say? Mad? Calm? He's emotional, fired up. Lets the players know what he thinks has to be done. Focuses on one or two small things they need to do. Fires the guys up mostly. Gets after it.
The Kids: Couturier has done a great job. HE's a real smart hockey player and you've seen it in camp and all year long. Limited role for 30-40 games. Playing at the NHL level his skating has been getting better and his role has expanded. His intelligence makes him a very special player.
Talbot: Knew he was a really good player and seemed like a good leader and smart player. He's a real leader, very good hockey IQ. A lot of guys look up to him. Relentless worker. It was a great signing. Can't say enough about Max.
Knew Wayne Simmonds was a hard worker. Voracek had speed. In training camp you could see the speed the kids played at. Give a lot of credit to Laviolette for them developing.
We really don't want to make it a habit, and it has been a habit lately to get down early. But Sunday the energy and execution was the best it's been in all three games.

"I know a time may come when I will be required to spend 22 minutes on the ice. And if I didn’t add to my game load, I know I wouldn’t be able to. I simply couldn’t hack it. This is why I have introduced the bike sessions. But you have to put so much effort into it! Worse than a game …. On top of everything else, I see others leaving, while I am still pedaling. But I do it for myself and I know that I need to."

I don't know that too me is harsh. I don't think there was really intent to injure. But that's just me.
Zac Rinaldo loves to throw his weight around and has no problem dropping the gloves, but he knows remaining disciplined could be in his best interest. Rinaldo’s 232 minutes in penalties were second to Columbus’ Derek Dorsett's 235 this season. Even though it is tempting to get back at the Penguins physically, his focus is on the larger picture.
