Not anymore. Still a very good player. But not as good all around as Toews. - MJL
I don't know- we all know how Datsyuk plays D....hell of a passer and a hell of a finisher too.
It's really a win win, but if I pick one, I'd pick Pavel. However, with Toews' age, he could definitely develop into a better player than Dats.
Like I said earlier- he's a hell of a player, but that's all I know. I don't really know the ins and outs of his game since I don't see the Hawks play very much...that's why I brought it up. |

i refuse to watch this shanahan video explaining the suspensions. neither the asham nor the neal suspensions are severe enough. the league and its disciplinary office are a complete joke. have been for a long time. |

The explanation doesn't even matter to me. All I need to know is he's suspended for 1 game. He can explain it however he wants.
All I know is, if you have to justify a decision with that much bending over and reaching, it's not a good one. - Jsaquella

To me it just isn't worth getting all riled up about. The explanation on the Couturier hit is laughable. End of story. Time to move on and worry about game 4. - MJL
Yup. No amount of me complaining is changing anything. End their season tomorrow, get ready for the next war. |

I'm more than willing to sacrifice Rinaldo for the remainder of the playoffs with JVR due back soon.
Crazy game in Chicago. It sets up beautifully for Torres to score the game winner. Come on Raffi do it, embarrass the Three Stooges, Buttmann, Shanasham, and Campost. - PLindbergh31
i hope he gives crybaby his 3rd (?) conky. (frank) them, (frank) the league. (frank) shanahan |

So, Shea Weber getting fined shows the NHL conspiracy against the Red Wings? |

No, the NHL has an easy out to give Torres more games...the fact that Hossa left on a stretcher.
NHL = Not Hampered by Logic.
edit: Hindered would work as well... - wolfhounds
It's a joke. Torres is going to use the same excuse. And every bum in the league is going to follow suit. Shanny needs to call an emergency meeting with the 16 teams. He's f'd up big time and painted himself into a corner. |

Not really.. no one else has gotten a stiff suspension. Backstrom just got 1 game tonight for a pretty similar play as to what Asham, the Penguin, did. |

All I'm saying is he's losing cred with each explanation. The fact that the name on your back gives you less games is a joke. The rules are laid out and its basic if you break them you pay the price. Obviously repeated offenders should be hit with a bigger suspension. |

Datsyuk as a defensive forward is really been hype for the last few years. He is rarely used to check top lines, and doesn't play much on the PK anymore. Datsyuk isn't a big goal scorer either. Toews is a dominant player on both ends of the ice.

it's too bad sestito isn't available.
i've really been rooting for the yotes, but as of now, i'm having a hard time doing that. might have to pick the hawks. i (frank)ing hate torres. have for a long time. it's preposterous that he wasn't even penalized. how does this continue to happen, where guys are getting hammered, clearly in illegal fashion, yet neither of the striped clowns has the ability to see it? |

It is but it still doesnt erase the fact that Shanny is losing cred with his explanations for these suspension (all not just Flyers). |

The only way it would feed into your conspiracy theory is if it only happened to the Flyers. But yet the inconsistency is League wide. So using common sense, how can it possibly be a conspiracy against the Flyers?

He's losing cred with who, the fans? I doubt if either Shanahan or the League cares about that. Shanahan doesn't answer to the fans.

had the shoe been on the other foot and had say hartnell taken the same liberties on staal and malkin it would have been no less than 5 games |

If Torres is suspended more than one game, I'm gonna go apepoop, the only thing he did differently than Neal, is throw one head shot during his shift, and not two.
I don't give a rat (frank) that Hossa was injured, shouldn't factor into the decision making. Start suspending guys 5+ games when there are no injuries as a result of head shots, and it will start to deter guys from doing it. |

Giving that job to a former player was a monumental mistake. There's no good reason why Kerry Fraser shouldn't just take over this job tomorrow. |

What do you mean? Shanny was expecting Neal to come in and tell the truth.
Neal " I tried to run Couturier and take Girouxs head off as well. I left my skates to try and injure both but I failed."
C'mon Shanny. |

So again using some logic, who is favored there? That wouldn't be a Flyers Penguins thing. There is no conspiracy towards the Flyers. End of story. |

You think the players in the league dont care? Cause I happen to think they do. Theres different standards all over. Theres no consistency. |

I agree, the rationale is ridiculous. If you question Neal's intent regarding headhunting Cooter, why not factor in his clear headhunting G several minutes later.
The fact that he committed two very similar dangerous offenses in a short period of time clearly shows his state of mind. |
