Also, to be fair, Neal's fine this year for high-sticking happened as he was falling during a wonderful slew-foot from our favorite resident artist PK Subban.
Not quite sure how it warranted a fine. - nhindian
Correct me if I'm wrong but he also put a Coyote on a stretcher in the past two years due to an elbow to the head, no? |

That is the most ridiculously stupid and bush league thing I have seen since the Chicago rag put Pronger in a tutu. Worse than that, it's not even clever or funny. Re-affirms my decision to not buy that paper or visit their website - Jsaquella
Yea it is however i guess NY, Chicago, Boston had there fun with us i guess they felt left out |

It absolutely is. Anyone can run anyone now when they don't even have the franking puck! And all they have to do is use the Neal excuse. Sickening. - hereticpride
Well you cant run a player unless your All-Star talent. Then you only get a game if your lucky. |

Yep, the League doesn't want the Flyers, who are one of the big market teams in the League, to succeed. All the evidence is there. It's been going on for what, at least 20 years? - MJL
and Ed snider, who's with Comcast, which owns NBC...yea the NHL is anti-Flyers |

I'm going to institute the Shanahan way of doing things into my job when I get back to work. If I see an attractive woman break the law, she now will not face any discipline, I will turn a cheek to whatever the crime is, while any guy, or unattractive woman will be prosecuted to the fullest.
Afterall, attractive women are much more important, than everyone else. (Actually they are, but we aren't allowed to admit it) |

Neither the owners, BOG's, or the Players Association would sign on for that. It's a business. The League wouldn't want a marquee player out of the lineup for that long. Have to fill the seats. - MJL
i don't see much of a correlation there. and what about all these star players that are having their seasons and in some cases careers ended early because of these illegal hits or even just regular injuries? crosby is the prime example. been out for a year+ yet the pens sell out every game and draw a huge crowd on the road even if he's not in their lineup. |

i do think that, ask mjl. i don't care what cooke got, he was a goon. i give him credit for cleaning up his act though. i do think the league is out to screw the flyers over as much as possible. i also think they do everything they can to help sidney crosby and his team - flyerscup2011
But.... didn't they constantly run a commercial about the Flyers going 82-0?

i agree they need to penalize these hits in severe fashion, but my definition of severe is more like 20-30 games. taking away 25%+ of a season's salary will probably make them take notice, not to mention the internal disruption their absence might cause. - hammarby31
know what, I'm cool with that. I'm sorry I'm just watching that game and my daughter comes to kiss me goodnight and is getting upset and asking me why that guy is on a stretcher. It made me think, what is Hossa's kids thinking? I mean these guys although they are multimillionaires, do have families and are entitled just as anyone to enjoy that aspect of their life. It be different if he skated with the puck through the neutral zone with his head down, and Torres cleaned his clock, but my god, that was a blatant intent to injure if I ever saw it. |

I want Torres to either score the game winner, or bury Kane! |

That's a good counter point to that. The League is caught between a rock and a hard place. They want as good of a product on the ice as they can. What other explanation is there?

I would kill to have Mez dressing up for game 4 over Lilja or the injured Kubina - Scottie Upshall
JVR should be ready to go early next series and Meszaros is still 2 weeks away best case scenario. Game 5 would be a possibility. We sure could use him, especially of they play the Rangers next round... |

That was Feb. 13, 2010 as a Star, so that wouldn't have been taken into account for a repeat offender.

Bad example, hot women have been getting away with murder since the dinosaurs roamed the earth. |
