What's the scoop on Forsberg? He barely showed up at the WJr's and Collberg really outplayed him but he keeps getting ranked so high? He must have something that's yet to translate ... |

His character's been highly touted, and he's played in the elite league at the age of 17 against grown men, so apparantly he's top poop |

Non of the Dmen will be there... Ward likely in goal.
Maybe half the forwards who are on the team now. - robin_steele264
It's still 2 years off. So much can change. Methot, Subban, Schenn, Phanuef and Jay-Bo aren't the worst 5 Dmen around. Add in Letang, Hamhuis and/or Bieksa and you've got a pretty solid group. Or maybe Keith and Seabrook. There will be some very respectable additions coming pretty soon. |

Those 5 should be good enough to get us the gold. |

burke's new strategy for next season: the 'brothers in arms' approach.
starting line-up:
b. schenn - e. staal - j. staal
m. staal - l. schenn

Subban could make the Olympic team perhaps.
Little chance for the rest.
Jbo will retire having never made the playoffs.

Phanuef is only 26 and has been a top Dman in the league. He could turn back into an Olympic quality player.
The call up guys have a good shot. Letang looks likely. Hamhuis could draw consideration if his offensive numebrs stay up. He's already a great defensive Dman.
Guys could get hurt, start to suck really bad or come out of nowhere. Outside of Weber and possibly Pietrangelo, I don't think there are too many locks for the D just yet. Keith and Doughty just came off of some so-so years. Guys like Harmonic, Myers and Subban haven't earned their spots yet. There will be a lot of 'who's hot now?' when selections are made. |

Phaneuf aint making the Olympic team.
I think most Leaf fans will agree with me on this one.
Dan Girardi could make the short list.

Road teams are 14-8 so far in these playoffs....
Home ice advantage?

This year, no he wouldn't. But he might in a couple of years. He has a great shot and is a good skater. Not saying it's likely but it's not inconceivable.
At least he's going this time when invited instead of spending the summer with Avery's ex. |

avery's ex is that thing avery used to do, so that means phaneuf must have spent the summer playing hockey |

Looking good for him to continue that trend for a while in Calgary.

Im pretty sure 9 out of 10 would take Subban if given the choice between the two.

Based on potential. If we were to make a hockey team right now for one season I'm sure most would take Phaneuf. |
