At least the Sens won. Turris of all people scorches King Henrik. Hank looked a lot like Bob did on the Sullivan goal.

Just got home from that debacle. How bad was that Grossmann hit that he took? - FrankDrebbin
Didn't see it. someone said his head got forearmed into the glass with the ref 5feet away. That's a non call but Simmons gets. A 2 and a 10 for holding the stick lol |

The team hasn't played well defensively in front of Bryzgalov, but Bryzgalov has also allowed a good amount of soft goals. That has to stop Joe. It's the same thing we have been seeing for years. Flyers invested a ton of money to fix it, and it hasn't worked thus far.
Turris! Oh baby.... - PLindbergh31
Tonight he looked like he did back before he got hot.
Kinda out of it, off balance, slow to react ...

I disagree they did not play well defensively. Too many rebounds were picked up by the penguins tonight, all goalies give up rebounds. I'm sorry I've watched almost every other game in these playoffs and this one is wide open in both ends thus the high scores. The Flyers did not play good defensive hockey tonight. The lost rebounds and wide open shooters says so. |

Reaction time, lateral movement, and rebound control were simply pathetic. I don't know if he's hurt or what the deal is, but he gotta be much better. |

Thomas set on the bench for a year before he lit the world on fire. Plus I think bryz is hurt those lateral goals were killing him |

The first goal was a bad goal, poor rebound. I wouldn't call it soft. The rest I can't blame him for |

I said they were poor defensively. They have been all series. And outside of a few moments, the goaltending has been extremely poor as well. No way around it. |

I can agree with the lateral movement he did look off, but the rebound control no. Rebound control is overrated because rebounds are part of the game and as a team you have to beat the other team to the rebounds in both ends. Flyers win the battles to the rebounds and this thing might just go to overtime, honestly when bob gave up the third goal I stopped watching. Didn't give up on the team but the game was clearly out of hand then. |

No question. March is way in the rear view mirror now for bryz. The d coverage is just as bad. It's like they wanted to lose out there |

The thing is, I see everyone saying this phrase over and over "I can't blame Bryzgalov" Sure, goals will be scored, but to win a cup you not only need the goaltender to allow basically zero soft goals, you also need them playing at an elite level. If anyone thinks Bryzgalov has even been average they are watching different games than I am. Bryzgalov is being paid to stop all the routine shots, as well as making saves that are very difficult, for the most part he hasn't done either. Just calling it as I see it.

If they are gonna be poor defensively how do you expect the goaltending to be better? I'm sorry but there isn't a goaltender playing great without his team playing great in front of him. It really doesn't start with the goaltender. Not in today's league. I mean the caps are holding their own with an AHL goalie. They are doing so because they are playing defensively in front of him. It's the same reason Leighton got three consecutive shutouts two years ago. |
