It's weird I'm as passionate about the Flyers as anyone and tonight I just shook my head. I've flipped my coffee table over once or twice over much tighter and meaningless games. This one you just forget about. It's not even worth getting worked up about. |

The thing is, I see everyone saying this phrase over and over "I can't blame Bryzgalov" Sure, goals will be scored, but to win a cup you not only need the goaltender to allow basically zero soft goals, you also need them playing at an elite level. If anyone thinks Bryzgalov has even been average they are watching different games than I am. Bryzgalov is being paid to stop all the routine shots, as well as making saves that are very difficult, for the most part he hasn't done either. Just calling it as I see it. - PLindbergh31
There's a lot of areas the Flyers need to get better, including in net. But they are still in great position to knock out the Cup favorites in the first round. The most important thing a team has to do to win the Cup is win each Series. Flyers are in position to do so.

Agree 100%. If and when the Flyers win this Series. This game will be meaningless.

If they are gonna be poor defensively how do you expect the goaltending to be better? I'm sorry but there isn't a goaltender playing great without his team playing great in front of him. It really doesn't start with the goaltender. Not in today's league. I mean the caps are holding their own with an AHL goalie. They are doing so because they are playing defensively in front of him. It's the same reason Leighton got three consecutive shutouts two years ago. - JoeRussomanno
If you saw any of the Rangers/Senators game, both teams had numerous breakdowns, and two reasons kept the game low scoring, blocked shots, and both goaltenders playing tremendously.

ounter point is if they let the Pens back in then this game will be looked at. The Flyers better not (frank) around next game, this series can get messy real quick |

Agree. As I posted before everyone would have signed on for a 3-1 series lead, but in the grand scheme of things, if the Flyers advance, can they beat the Bruins or Rangers with this type of goaltending and defense?
We already know that the Flyers won't be averaging 6 goals a game against either of those teams. |

Rangers seem to always have players in shooting lanes. |

Tonight was the only game I didn't watch of that series. I tend to disagree with you the rangers specifically keep everything to the perimeter and make you pay for anything in close. I will say in the closing seconds of game 3 Lundqvist made some terrific saves. But then again, Bryzgalov made a lot of those saves in this series too. Look neither the pens nor the sens have the firepower the Penguins or the Flyers do. Lineup two offensive juggernauts that don't play defense and this is what you get. |

I was trying to hold back the laughter.
Just one of those games....nothing you can do but move on.
One game at a time. Didn't work out tonight, try again Friday. We've had great success at the Consol.
Let's get some good habits in Friday and hope goaltending improves. Not sure I want them to even advance if they'll continue to play like this. A future series against Boston, NY, hell, even Florida won't be barn-burners each night. They need to play some shut-down defense. May as well try Friday so we're good for the rest of the playoffs. |

I didn't expect the Flyers to sweep the Pens. The Flyers are still in the drivers seat and control their destiny.

I know better than to do that. Even if the Flyers won I'd be getting annoyed with the Crosby love. |

There's zero excuses to get blasted on home ice. The team needs to wake up and close this out Friday. |

You know the answer to that. But first things first. I believe in this team and in Bryzgalov.

I believe they lead the NHL in blocked shots. Which is a statistic that involves nothing but guts and effort. |
