So if we want to get into diver trade offs, the 3 calls the Flyers 'earned' at the spot that it was a 2-1 game. No embelishment there, right?? Also a hook to Giroux's hands causes him to snab his head back like he got hit with a jab. Hartnell tucks Cooke's stick in to his armpit and jerks it upward to make it look like a high stick.

It's hard to not get excited.
Good things:
1) 10 goals, and Bryz's foot is still bothering him. When asked about it after game, he said something like we don't talk about injuries. If it was fine, you'd think he'd say so.
2) Pens defense tightened up
3) Fleury settled down
Still scared about:
1) Pens PK still bad
2) Lavi is a good coach and will make adjustments
3) Pens can't relax one little bit
unreal. How this went uncalled in the game is beyond me. He left his feet and he lead with his elbow and targeted his head. Yeah, they beat us down in game 4 and it's a series again and I know the Pens fans are gonna say we're whining like crosby, but come on, where's the F*&%^ respect!! - flyersfan51

All good points. The Pens got right back in the series last night, and your 'Good' #s 2 and 3 are a big reason. Flyers could use a little boost in both areas, too.
The Flyers going back on the road may be the best thing for them, as they've been at their best away from home all year. We shall see.
So you want the Pens to be held to the respect standard, but fail to mention the 10,000 other incidents that have taken place this last week and a half? What's good for one is good for all. Until the league disarms the situations by getting serious about punishments, no team should be held over another in any higher regard.

I will be very reserved until a potential game 6. Much of the Flyers success has been from the overwhelming confidence they have acquired in how they have won the games (great comebacks, high goal totals, Pens visibly frustrated). I think they lose much of that if the series goes back to Philly. The sticks get gripped tighter and the Penguins belief just grows stronger. Game 5 isn't a must win for the actual Flyers team, but it might be for the fans psyche.

Fleury let in what I considered 2 soft goals but after that he locked it down and looked like his old self. This it was a coincidence that our d looked good with Martin out? hmmmm Food for thought.

2nd goal was very bad IMO. 5 on 3 situations are tough enough, especially on the goalie. Your best killer in that situation needs to be your goalie. He let in a shot that he was square to and saw the whole way get through him. Outside of that I thought he did a nice job. First goal is flukey, and regardless of what that penis head thought about the third goal, if Fleury got it, it might have been the save of the playoffs outside of Bryzgalov's glove on Letang.
Flyers deserve (and will!) win game 5 and the series.
Neal deserves a nice clean body-check to remind him that dirty plays will not be tolerated.
Penguins need to stop crying and start getting a bit more objective; the team´s behaviour has been far from respectably and not worthy of the talent present in this team..

That's a little personal, no? Still haven't read it, but I will.
The fans' psyche? I'm only concerned with mine, and that one's fine. With all the off season changes, I wasn't expecting a Cup run, but I'm pleased at the position they're in at the moment. Great learning experience for all the young guys - the playoff environment alone will go far in their development, and hopefully they'll be taking something away from this outrageous series. There's a lot of "what not to do"s for them to take in right now.

Ya, that first goal was tough, if Giroux played it cleanly, Fleury probably stops it. That second one made me cringe.
Friday really is huge. A pens win (especially a convincing one) puts the pressure all on Philly, and they have to go home and face their reactionary media, and Bryz will be a mess.

Martin will play when he is ready, that is my guess, like it or not...

Who?
I don't know Gunner. If the team bounces back and isn't a defensive mess without him, I'm not sure he comes back just because he's ready. Of course, it's all moot in the absence of a couple more wins.

So what should all the other dirty plays get.....a nice clean body check as well? He served his sentence, as is Asham, is did Adams. No Pens fan here complained about any of the punishment sent down. Most, in fact agreed with it. You would know that if you would actually stay for conversation instead of trolling.

I'm not advocating for his return to the lineup, but are you confident that he would actually be held out?

Martin shouldn't see the ice, even if healthy, unless there is a round 2 in the Pens future. And that would still be a questionable decision at best.

You really think so? The callups were fantastic last night. I made a post during the game where they were doing exactly as you had posted about a few games back with doing the simple things. Puck was either dumped to center or put out high on the glass. Nothing too cute with passes right in front of our net. Despres looked difficult to deal with last night along the boards. Not saying he is Orpik but he is certainly more difficult on Flyer forwards than Martin.
One play in particular where I thought he was better than Martin was when he got overwhelmed trying to get the puck out near our blue line(2 flyers went after him to force a turnover). Rather than just cough up the puck he tied himself and a Flyer to the boards and pinned the puck until he got help. No odd man break, no turnover.

I didnt win even though Malkin scored the 1st goal--Did you get it so we can split the prize?

Im on the fence about it actually. When the Despres lovefest was going on during the regular season and people were suggesting that Martin be dealt, I remarked that there was no way management would deal Martin and roll the dice on a rookie d-man in this post season. Expectations for the team were too high to do so. Now, though, I can see a scenario though were they are winning games and he is, simply because its that time of year and Martin has been so grossly ineffective in 3 games in all situations.
It's hard to tell if their defense was really any better last night or if they just finally managed to take advantage of the nearly equally bad goal tending at the other end and finally scored that backbreaking goal that had alluded them previously (Staal hitting the post in game 1; Letang slow on the draw and a great save by Bryz early in Game 2). Once they did, it wasn't much of a game. Hard to take anything away from that other than the positive of winning.

Of course nobody complained about the Neal suspension..
One game suspension is ridiculous for the behavior shown in game three..
Should have at least been 4-5 games..
Comparison to show why 1 game is ridiculous and tremendously arbitrarily:
